Emoting and Keys

Selection is by having the cursor over the person, deslection is by moving it away.
If I want to smile at someone, I find that goint into 3rd person view and just having the cursor over them is the same as selecting them and emoting in the old system.
I removed "Jump" from the spacebar in my keymap.
You can hit the period on the number pad to turn off the camera follow and go back to the old camera options.

There is also this keymapping guide link Krusshyk provided for the interface.
You can capture most of the old feel still:

I thought this might be something to throw in this link to help some of us out with our Keymapping. Thank Isy, not me.

Regarding the keymap. When the CU 1 came out, the default keymap was changed to what we have now ( Very, very close if not the same ). I kept it and I got use to it. What helped the most, was actually clearing the spacebar jump.

Most things your going to find solutions to either by using the link Provided by Krussh or by using your Options menu in game.
For Shensen:
Options/Interface/ 3rd box up should be checked.
There you have your onscreen waypoint monitor. Where it's always been.

Some things still seem clunky to me.
An example is as follows:
Many objects if you simply click on them you will pick them up/use/ or manipulate them in some form.
With others you may wonder why nothing is happening. Use the tilde (sp?) key to bring up additional commands in Radial menu form. That's the key just about your Tab key on the keyboard.
Thanks to Cryil and Oroho for pointing that one out.

Thanks I'll try that out tonight.

And for Hashum....
/point at Isy's beginning post. Jump remove command.
Keymapping seems to be the answer to most ot the annoyances we have. You can also remove Enter as a command to use chat.
I'd strongly urge all of you to check out the link Krussh has provided. If it's not there I think most of our other little tweaks can be done in our Options menu under the Interface/Keymapping/Control tabs.
Another handy reminder is if you do any manipulating on screen it seems to lock the camera back to a 'locked' view. Just hit the Alt key and it unlocks again.

To turn off the chase camera (which is why you can't look at the front of your character):
--Options (O)
--Keymap
--Uncheck the box next to Chase Camera.
If this has already been posted somewhere, sorry.

Hit your keypad's . button too and you can just flip on/off the chase camera fast too. I admit I like that.

I am thinking about rebinding my mouse (since it's a 5 button) so that I can move using it, and use the side buttons (4, 5) to fire and do my special.
I still havent done a complete rebind yet... :P but I will try it and see how it works tonight maybe.

I love my mouse...walking with my spare button makes everything less annoying.

Here's the link to the New Default Settings Keymap (The clunky one we're having trouble with):

It sounds like another alternative is to buy another add-on for your computer. So far I'm seeing very good reports for using a Nostromo n-52 Pad (and a P2900). Not an option for some of us... but I figured I'd throw it out there just the same. Google it.

Also, in game, using // should give you a command listing. We'll have to map out what does what though.

If anyone's ever changed their windows settings so a single click opens documents and runs executables, they have an example of what happened to SWG. Default actions are now single clicks, and you have to radial for any other options. This makes talking to some NPC's less intuitive, but still accessible.
There's likely never going to be a fix for it. We just adapt or complain or move on.
