Well I've uninstalled the game. Short notice and impulsive, but hey that's me. I've given this game more than enough chances and I'm just plain tired of "adapting". I was never a big one for PvP, but I don't even enjoy the PvE now.

I hope those that remain find a happy medium and perhaps the RP will be enough to keep some around. I've enjoyed meeting and RPing with you all. Imo, the RP community is the last great thing SWG has to offer.

After last night I realized I shouldn't have to put forth effort in to enjoying a game. I realized that there is no way to truly advance your character anymore. There is no combat spam, combat lasts maybe 5 seconds and is mindless. If you win, you don't know why or how and if you lose you don't know either. There is no tact. Combat is mindless, dumb and without strategy.

The only reason I am not uninstalling is because my sub hasn't run out. I'll RP from time to time because of friends and if things get fixed... no mkae that overhauled I'd be willing to give it another go.

But my love of the game has died. I am looking for new things to move on to now.

I do agree about the Fantasy thing being over done. However the only other Fantasy RPG I've played was Gemstone III which was a MUD style onlnie game. So I haven't burnt myself out.

I will look into the STO but was never really a fan of ST. However I do know many of the people that like Star Wars do like ST so I'll give it another chance. I'll read up on it this week.

Well I went back to Dark Ages of Camelot and was pleasantly surprised to see all my old guildies still playing, many of which had taken a break to play SWG and returned.

I forgot how damn cool that game is considering its age. They've made a lot of nice enhancements since the last time I played so I'm still relearning it to some degree, but I'm having a good time. I may try out LOTR when it comes out, but we'll see.

It looks like it will be more RPG'ish than that. It sounds like they're looking at making guilds = starship crews and that the performance of the guild as a whole will determine the outcomes of combat scenarios, etc.

They have also mad eit clear that there will be instances 'where it makes sense'. If you are the only away crew on an entire planet, thats what you'll experience.

After seeing some of the artwork I got a feel for where they want to go with this. I hope they pull it off, they certainly have plenty of good examples of what not to do.
