NGE Loot/Crafting Thread.

Here's some of what I've been getting on loot. (re-titled to enclude crafting discussion since loot/crafting is a bit of an issue right now.)

Two of my unused but perhaps best items came from the Corvette:

Boots and Bandolier of Fate:

<bio-linkable>
Restrictions: CL 70 to equip
Stats: +18 Luck

Near as I can tell Luck is used to determine your likelihood to Dodge in combat. I've seen the <Luck> combat message pop up once or twice for me.

Various armor pieces and other loots I've been getting too:

Composite Leggings of Fortitude:

<bio-linkable>
Restrictions: Assault/CL 70
Stats: +18 to Stamina

Kin/Energy Resist: 6300/4300
Bases: 5300

Durable Bandolier:

<bio-linkable>
Restrictions: CL 70
Stats: Constitution +18

Well, what have some of you found in different areas of the game so far?

A Quest reward item that may shed some light on something is this:

Planetary Positioning System:
25 Uses with a 5 second reuse time.
Affect: Boosts Terrain Negotiation by +14 for I believe it was about 9-14 minutes. I'll update this when I use it again for more accurate readings.

Essentially being a Jedi... I'll consider myself to be a Non-Scout in this new NGE. Going uphill is like crawling.

Once I used this going up an incline made me feel like I had about Terrain Negotiation 3 from the Scout line under the old system.

So, it is a modifiable stat and does work in the new system. There are items/clothes in game to help boost this and I think the numbers give you an idea of about what will give what rating.

+18 Terrain Nav Clothes (if they still work) should let you move freely again is the impression I'm getting.

Yeap, pretty much have to get off of Mustafar and 'try' some things if you want to start finding some loot. The above examples came off of Elite CL 79-CL82 NPCs on the Vettes and Ground.

There are lower lvl loots available on some named creatures and npcs as well:

Example:

Fit Shirt:
<bio-linkable>
Restrictions: CL 20 to Equip
Stats: +5 Constitution

Weapon Drops too:

Adjusted E-11 Carbine

<bio-linkable>
Restrictions: CL 40 to Equip/ No Class restrictions.

Bass Type: Energy
Damage: 50-100

Range: 0-50m

In my honest opinion they need to add in stats for Speed. There does seem to be a speed rate on weapons. Carbines, for example, are able to out damage other weapons simply because of a high fire rate right now even with low damage stats.

There are also Stims and Trinkets that act as mini-buffs to your stats:

Lucky Trinket:
CL 20 to use.
5 second cool down to use with 3 uses.
Increases Luck for a small period of time.

On your eyeballs and rocks...

There are a lot of highly stackable loots now. Get enough of those and you might have an easy 10k only taking up 1 slot of inventory space. I think I sold a stack fo 50 shield generators for around 6500 credits or so. Considering how easy it was to get them; I don't mind collecting junk to sell to the junk dealer now. The Boots of Fate I mentioned earlier can be sold for about 9k. So, even if you don't want the loot items you can still make a profit off of it.

In comparison to Crafted/Loot items... Just to throw this out there... I do much better with a Crafted Carbine than a Looted Carbine right now. There IS a need for Artisans. We've just got to find out what items in what areas.

Quick Selling Tip: The Rule still applies that some junk dealers will offer you squat for some things but it'll be like gold to others. :wink: (don't sell in Deeja Peak on Naboo) :cool:

Yeah, but once you get that single crafted carbine, it lasts you for life. What good is the artisan then?

Someone can always make a better carbine. And I'm not fully convinced they won't add some form of item decay back in for armor/weapons.

Also, not being limited to one type of weapon you may want a rifle/sword/carbine/knuckler.

Then there are consumable items still. Grenades work fairly well and do get used up. For now, it's a matter of finding the money making area. I'd honestly lean toward grenades till more development happens.

With weapon caps still in place and no slicing anymore, don't be surprised when no, someone can not make a better carbine anymore. As for not being convinced that the item decay won't come back, don't hold hope in that. They got rid of the anti-decay kits, the most valuable veteran reward there was. I think that shows that they are serious about the change. I mean I know it's SOE and the fact that no decision is made in stone, but this one was one of the core changes to "accessibility" and "fun" for new players, so I don't see it going anywhere.

Okay, so it's not 1 carbine, it's 1 carbine, 1 rifle, 1 pistol and 1 melee weapon. It is the same principle. You get that 1 of each, you don't ever need another.

Okay, so there are consumable items. Crafting has been reduced to making 1 schematic and doing full factory runs of it. If you make factory runs of any other item, you make enough to last the sales of that item for months.

I'm trying to say... I think their aware of it and I think they'll do something about it. Could I be wrong? Yes, I could. But only the comming months will tell for sure.

If you want to derail Batty's thread to again point out that the NGE sucks, which I agree, then start a new thread please.

I went krayt hunting with Jart, Ka'eri, and Rinna Tuesday night and in 2 hours we died a lot, but got 8 usable pearls including 2 premiums. Our biggest problem is we were usually outnumbered by the krayts in the canyon in the neighborhood of 10 krayts to our 4 hunters.

Some skill mods and stats still apply. So, what does this have to do with Loot?

I picked up a 'junk' CA tonight. However the junk CA in question was a Stamina +1. This tells me that there is still a market for AA/CAs. Not just the Loot drop Armor and the like with mods. Since professions still have bonuses (ie, lightsaber experimentation...) I believe there is still a market for these.

Architects and Tailors have had this problem from the start of the game.

When ADK kits came out, this was the same argument:
  • Why should I make weapons? Everyone who plays for some length of time will get an ADK. Someone will make a run of top quality weapons and people will slap their ADK on it and I'll never sell another weapon.
"Crafting has been reduced to making 1 schematic and doing full factory runs of it"

This was true before NGE. I have proof in my inventory with 2 suits of Chitan Armor with the same serial number. Sure, they wore out ( if I didn't put and ADK on it ). At that point I would probably go back to the same 12 point armorsmith who is probably someone's alt. Meanwhile, there is probably vendors out there full of mid-grade armor and weapons in some canceled crafters account

The crafting system hasen't changed, all they've done is given everyone free unlimited ADKs. I hope it's changed so that all crafters who can make a specific item can compete fairly with crafters who can make higher end items and make the same thing. This is something that probably requires a complete overhaul of the item decay & crafting system. So, for now, they simply turned decay it off.
