For the past year and a half, making an MMO has been a side project for me and my best friend. For just two guys, I believe we've gotten quite a bit accomplished. We have a semi-technical writeup that is over thirty pages long that covers various aspects of the game (although many of these ideas need more work to mesh well together, and many others can still be added).
We don't have any programming knowledge, so there goes the idea of us coding anything on our own. And we've been wanting to get more people in on the idea because we simply can't do it all in a reasonable time frame.
So... Before I post anything we've written, what do you think makes a great MMORPG, and what would be in YOUR ideal MMORPG?
Let's really make a game
I would like to see a futuristic/science fiction MMORPG with Vampires! Oh! And it has to have anime style graphics as well. Nothing like a good vampire vs human war in the future!

Locking this topic as we already have a "Let's make a game" topic. Keep that thread alive instead of starting another one, thanks.

yes a great MMO would be a mix of SWG and Privateer I think it was called. A very open Sci-Fi type experience.
Space twitch game with ground content. Something where you can really do whatever you want. And leave it PvP open, even if only after a certain "level" or something. Add's more realism.
Plus the fantasy thing is a bit over done. I like playing in the future, and you could make it fairly simple. Trader's/Merchant's, Smugger's/Pirates, and Merecenaries/Hunter's or something. It would be nice if you had someway to switch professions during the game, so you're not stuck with trader forever.
What I liked about Privateer (I'm sorry if I'm thinking of the wrong game) was you could get into the story of unlocking your memory or you could just go with your new shot at life. Personally I just started buying resources low from one planet and then selling them high at another to upgrade my ship. I loved it, my cousin and I played for hours sort of co-piloting the ship and alternating quests. If you threw in some general RP into the mix you've got me for $15.00 a month easy.
