Posted 11-29 I think, they took a survey via Nielson Research of 600 or so online gamers and its interesting to see the feedback. It gives you an idea of what they are considering with their own game development. Just reading him talk about the feedback has me stoked, making it so in 2K7!!!

As I understand it, there's a healthy dose of the Borg in the Delta quadrant, where Voyager annoyed the hell out of me for several seasons. ...with the state of the galaxy being in flux after Nemesis, I would expect an entire faction of Borg to be very possible.

Section 31 I could see as an interesting sideline in character progression in patches/expansions to come. Roleplay-wise I'm thinking that I'd like to play a character as secretly rabid anti-Klingon. "Don't trust them...Let them die! (Kirk ).

What if Praxis was sabotaged by Section 31 in the first place? Oooh.

Wow, that would mean that in part that Section 31 would be responsible for the peace between the Klingons and the Federation. Keer, you should write that novel, man. What a great idea!

The interesting thing about these results is how opposite the NGE is to the expressed preferrences. Makes me suspect that the focus groups that SWG used were made up of Devs who wanted less headaches.

I think that's what the STO group is trying to do before it launches. The same affect works backwards with the NGE in SWG though. Mainly because trying to create less headaches by making it a more 'basic' and easier to manage MMO defuncts the people that liked the headache of it being complicated and hard to manage for the Devs. Maybe STO learned something... question and test before you launch with a clear plan for your game.

Thumbs up to both games as far as I'm concerned though.

If there is an option at STO launch or later to be a Shady Profiteer type character I'd have to go for it. Infamous Trek hustlers:

- Cyrano Jones - Tribble merchant.

- Harcourt "Harry" Fenton Mudd - galactic ne'er do well and space pimp (Yes...he even had a hat with a feather in it).

- Quark - DS-9's favorite "usual suspect".
