Anyone see a pattern developing here(ie. see the bazillion version of SW on VHS)?

So all the same...just a new package. wow. How un-exciting.

I thought for a moment it would be the original, pre-special edition films for the fans who would want to see it just cleaned up but not all added to. You just can't get the original -- except used VHS tapes, right?

Yeah just George Lucas trying to suck a few more dimes out of the same crap. Funny thing is this pattern has worked its way in the LucasArts too.

Correct. Keep the Original Trilogy VHS in pristine condition. It's likely that we'll never see the originals again.

am curious if you have one of those dvd recorders with a VHS slot as well ( I know the exist) woudl it be smart to record your origional SW tapes onto DVD?
you know...easier to watch less wear and tear on the tapes etc...

Don't you mean re-rerelease?

That's someone's new full time job. Setting up the re-release schedule for all things star wars. I can't imagine that anyone has anything new to say about any of it. What kind of special features can we expect now?

Ummm, here is some footage of the guy who did Jar Jar's voice taking a dump. And here is a behind the scenes look at the documentary "the making of Star Wars Epidsode II: Attack of the clones."

Blah.

On the box set of VHS's that we have of the first 3 movies, I always fast forwarded through the interview at the beginning. George Lucas has pig-like facial features, and it was scary to see him talk.

I know my original trilogy DVD's are made from the VHS. And yes, I would suggest you do it.

If you can get your hands on them, the Star Wars Laserdiscs are the best quality version of the original films. Digital video with analog audio, but it beats analog for both from VHS

I have that on DVD, as most people don't have the Laserdisc players much anymore.
