just logged in this morning, and guess what I find? 95% packetloss, and a ping of about 500, and bandwidth jumping to about 4.1/0.0 to 40.5/0.0 and 10 fps, any idea whats going on?

Shutdown computer. Turn off Internet modem nad router... Turn internet modem and router back on. Turn on computer a few moments later.

SWG uses UDP (Uninterruptable Data Protocol) <--think that is correct. It has mcuh less tolerance for bad Internet connections than most any other app.

that's just a new "feature" added with the latest patch, to make the NGE more FUN!

t1 running at half of what you could call a t3's speed, ran through a router.

Now you've got an idea of what an average day can turn out to be like once we start getting Medium server load.

Seriously though... you might also want to run a virus check, spyware check, and make sure your HDs don't need their regularly scheduled defragging/disk clean up.

Aside from that... your Net Provider may be doing something funky today.

and if you want to go overboard and nuke your computer, try that panda something viris scan..it completely distroys all of your system info, but leaves the games intact.....that what i get fr trying to get the best virus scan

meh, i scan for viruses every ten minutes and it doesn't add nothing more than 10 ping, and removing it does nothing. it took pre-cu days when gorath had a extremly heavy population rating to get me to start lagging, and for a while I DID have a 28k modem to use so i know how much that sucks

Medium server load rofl if mediums causing you problems now how the hell did you play when it was high 24/7 lol

Correct. UDP basically does not provide for error correction like TCP packets which usually has some form of error correction built into the packet header and footer. Most online games use UDP because of frame rate issues and the importance of not tying up CPU cycles.

That being said, if powering down the router/modem does not solve the problem, the server could be experiencing a network outage or heavy traffic.
