Saddam Says He's Been Beaten in Detention

BAGHDAD, Iraq - After several hours of quietly listening to testimony,
Saddam Hussein alleged in a long outburst at his trial Wednesday that he had been beaten "everywhere on my body" while in detention.

The chief prosecutor said that if American-led multinational forces were abusing the former Iraqi leader, he would be transferred into the custody of Iraqi troops.

"Yes, I have been beaten, everywhere on my body. The marks are still there," Saddam told the court. "And I'm not complaining about the Americans, because I can poke their eyes with my own hands."

Earlier, Saddam sat quietly as a witness testified that his regime killed and tortured people by administering electric shocks and ripping off their skin after pouring molten plastic on it.

Two weeks ago, Saddam had called the court "unjust" and did not appear at a session.

Don't you know that's never a good idea. Everytime someone does something to someone that "should" last for eternity they always end up getting out somehow and wrecking havoc.

Yes, you can clearly see him poking out eyes there in that picture.

And I love how he's claiming to being beaten now. As if American guards would be that stupid to give him even an inch worth of leverage.
