People get X-mas bonuses?

I've never seen one...I thought that was just a plot device for movies.

Me too. Lucky for me I still work there.

I thought X-mas bonus was as real as Santa himself. Something they glorify in stories and books but doesn't actually exist.

The closest thing I got to bonus was getting Monday off (and finding out Monday morning to boot). Then again its a bonus to me that I have a JOB!

My wife got a $2400 and some change bonus this year........

Not really a bonus, though a lot of us thought of it as, but right around Christmas over in South Korea we found out about a week before New Year's Day that our paychecks would no longer be taxed since they were considering S. Korea a deployment assignment for some reason. For an E-4 like me that meant that I was going to bank $1200, roughly, a month instead of the $800 after taxes. (Hope my math is right) Pay Grades have changed a little since 2000-2001 as well though.

Yeah. One week was because they owed us the holidays that fell on weekends this year, so they lumped them into the week between Xmas and New Years (we had like 3 holidays off all year), and the other week was the last of my vacation time.

So no, not really an Xmas bonus. Just time I had coming.

Ha! Not quite. I used to think we have it great where I work, but then I found out what the EA folks get.

Looks like it's time to polish the resume

I just found out that I got a Christmas bonus on my latest paycheck. :) It was small but it was nice. Also I discovered that I received a fairly large raise this holiday season from the summer....so I'm pleased overall.

Better than a sharp poke in the eye, as my Dad said.
