Anyone else's comcast connection been craptastic lately? Mine drops completely every few hours. I have to reboot the old modem all the time too.

Although I hate Comcast with my every fiber...I have not had the problem, it sounds like your modem is crapping out on ya.

Not having any noticeable problems. It could be a regional thing though, ask your neighbors?

Thats funny. I don't talk to my neighbors and they don't talk to me. I think they are afraid I'll shoot them or something. There is the one biker guy across the street that lives above his parents garage...
I don't think he has internet. But he has had a few beers with me on the porch.

Yeah I don't talk to my neighbors either. I know my neighbors in Nocturnus, which is a fantasy world, fantasy town better than I know my RL neighbors. Internet isolationism FTW!

I work for the local cable ISP, and I believe your modem is going out on you. I've seen this many times before, and each time we have to do a modem swap.
Call up Crapcast and see if those things are under warranty.

Yeah. I'll give'em a call tomorrow. Knowing Comcast they will try to charge me if I call them about anything today. Its pretty old though so it might be going. I had to swap out my router last may. I got the Modem about three years ago I think, maybe 4.

If you want a replacement modem, and you rent the modem, call Comcast and tell them you're modem is toast and that you'd like a new one. Then make sure you unplug your modem so that when they go to look it see that if its offline, that it is
You'll get a refurb modem but its better then a near pos modem.

Yeah, what Slash said.
And after three or four years... Yeah. You're modem's toast. Ours are lucky to last two and a half.

Motorola SB5120 is the new hardware. Seems to be working well so far. I will have to get used to the fact that its led's work different from the COM21 model that served me so well for so many years.
