I'm not sorry at all and am glad they are fixing the bugged crystals. It also sounds like color crystals shouldn't have damage modifiers either which in my opinion would be awesome since it would allow for a greater variation in colors used.

I am pretty happy about this. I deleted most of my crystals with hidden stats and could not compete with people who had become Jedi around the same time as me.

It was more of a general statement as to how SOE acts, but if you actually read the whole thread, it shows how many Elder Jedi (ie: veterans) are pissed off about it

Eldars want that to mean something; that I get. But the crystals are more of an unbalanced 'I win' button for them. It did need fixed. I'm just not sure how your suppose to give Eldars an advantage over the new players if their not going to be able to at least attain that advantage later on in gameplay as well.

Currently I don't think any of the new players will get Eldar Robes/the special crystal. I like that idea because one of my toons is an Eldar Jedi. I don't like the idea because one of them isn't and will never get that chance.

That is an entirely different argument from the unbalanced crystals though. I think I see it more as... people being pissed because a bugged advantage is being taken care of. That about right?

Do me a favor, name a Game that Rewards long term Playing? I can only think of one and that Was UO, I have never played a game where we are given Items every so many Months of Game play.
As for me toning it down, whatever I know im an ass, but Honestly its not screwing Elder's they were meant to have 1k extra protection and the chance to do a bit more damage every now and then, not Hold down Basic attack and do CRAZY damage cause thats what the buged sabers were doing.
Put it this way they held the auto attack down and non-elders could heal and still die without thinking about it, now tell me thats intended.

Jedi or not, I still think it retarded that Jedi were the only profesion that got anything special and their own. Think about it Any one of us could do the grind hell I was almost done with it, yet I got nothing as a BH for it, you did'nt either.

I dont care what they got, they lost just as much, although I could argue we lost much content from player marks going away but all water under the bridge now....

The "why did the get something and I didn't" arguement I would love to comment on, but it on rain down flames from the heavens, get me ganked and ending with the locking of the thread....and we dont want that now do we

Just a little background.. with my opinions sprinkled in of course.

I believe the intended reward for the elder jedi was the cloak which has the best defense a jedi you can get as well as a nice stat buff. This would make the elder jedi a little bit better than the new jedi.


Buuuuut.... What was discovered was that some preNGE crystals had some insane speed on them, allowing elder Jedi to attack THREE times as fast as "normal" jedi.

I can tell you from personal experiance, this was completely broken. I watched these sabers mow through people like Anakin through younglings.

That was not intended, and that is what is being fixed. Some elder welcome the fix as it makes things fair (and fair = fun, imho).


I understand what you mean by "screwing the vets".. but in this case they are unscrewing everyone who does not have broken-sick-uber-sabers.
