Skull knows more than I, but yeah, I think those jets can pretty much climb straight up, if not at least 80 degrees or so. You should see 'em take off from O'Hare. All you see are jets coming out from behind buildings at like 65 degrees.

funny thing is, they're not, it just LOOKS that way

the most they're doing is 20 deg pitch up (in mine we get to about maybe 12-15 degrees at the beginning, then 7.5 deg until 10000', then about 1-1.5deg after that)

but yeah, they'll pitch up pretty high if you got the speed and the balls

in the sim I did it...we were cruising at mach .80+, and the guy made a mountain appear in front of us, so the terrain warning system would go off way late, to force us to climb like a mofo to get the hell outta there...

soooo, I cranked back on the yoke and had her up about 60-70deg, doing over 12000 feet/minute climb

after watching that video a few more times, one thing finally stood out

don't know where this was, or what it was for, but it was going WAY faster than the 250kt speed limit below 10,000'

Well I can't really make out the symbol on the tail of that c-130, but by the paint pattern it is definately not US. That gives you South America or Europe. Possibly some former Soviet Block if they purchased 130's from us.
