Think about your Bad Guys... then Thank Them!

Consider this my first rant supporting the Bad Guy.

What does the Bad Guy do? He manipulates your character. He puts you through Hell. Then offers you the opportunity to Shine in dramatic, Good, RP.

In this case it's the Imperials (sorry, Nyvveck, they are considered the bad guys of the films), the Dark Jedi, the Bounty Hunters and every other person out there to make your character go through a journey.

What we forget in RP is that when we get attached to our characters, as all of us do, we tend to take things too personal.

To that end I'm officially saying Sorry to Fedaykin, Kirt, Novall, Alonzo and every other bad guy I built up angst over because they were just trying to give me a platform on which to act.

You should thank these people for helping add flavor to the community. They've busted butt to do something good by playing something bad.

I've always had much <3 for Kirt. He is too good at being a bad guy sometimes. I have griped at him on more than one occasion.. but never once did I say he was doing a bad job at being a villain.


During the Replicant War we were bad guys together.. that was a BLAST!!


Honorable mention to Novall, Alonzo, and Nyvveck for some of our enjoyable interactions.


I cannot neglect to mention the gone, but not forgotten, Colonel Raggs for some of the best imperial RP I have ever seen. He was instant immersion. I did not have a name to him.. I was just "twi'lek".. or "the twi'lek". I loved it.

The only one that comes close to Col Raggs as the honorable Imperial Presence, otherwise denoted by the terrorists that started this thread as "the bad guy", is Nyvveck. He has played the Imperial part well. And I don't believe the Empire is necessarily the bad guy.

And thank you for the interactions we have had in the past Nyvveck.

I would like to direct your attention to all the white suits who used to play...very patiently...at the Roba. On many occasions, I watched one or two accommodate another player misplaying a rebel for up to an hour. Since these little scenes had to have been boring for the Imps because of their repetitive nature, and they continued to do them Friday nite after Friday nite, those guys deserved more than the beer we sometimes lifted in their honor.

I was sorry to see them disappear, silently (don't remember seeing any of them rant or say goodbye), one after the other.

Just for reminisces sake...

Illbleed played an Imp hardcase well, too. He hired Keer for some JtL missions and I felt immersed the whole time. Over 2-3 days.

Nyase the same. He, I, and Illbleed ran the missions together. Nyase reminded me of the Imp Registration officer from the LA TIE Fighter game...

"Enter your (goddamned) name, pilot."

Trammel called me out on a totally random encounter in space early in JtL. I was checking out some other guy's Vindicator. First time I'd seen one. As I pulled off, I get a /tell...: "Identify yourself, pilot..."

Keer: "Imperial craft, commercial cargo vessel here...had a small weapons malfunction...we're all okay here now....How are you? (speeding off then...)

Trammel: Who is this? What's your operating number?

I boogied. Damn, that was fun!

Gov. Trayuse menacing Dwilah in the casino one night before it opened felt very real.

Also, I once thought that I pulled off a coup by getting some of the 501st Stormtrooper folks who march in real life parades to play SWG. Turns out some of them already did and wanted RP!
