Goodbye Rightclick for specials

I was reading a thread about the interface changes on TC and I wanted to drop a quick note here in the gameplay discussion forum.
On TC you can now remap your Primary and Secondary attack buttons off of the mouse if you want. In addition the team will be adding the option to have your hotbar buttons actually execute special moves rather than just selecting them.

I think the stuff that's up on TC right now doesn't have the publish 27 stuff in it yet... that's still being worked on and polished internally before it's ready to be moved from our dev servers up to TC. This keymapping stuff would go live in a hotfix hopefully next week some time (after the bugs have been fixed).
The team is trying to take care of as many issues that you all raise as they can in hotfixes in between the major publishes where we will be making serious forward progress on the larger scale and longer term things.

Isn't that how the old hotbar worked? soooo, what was the point in that changing up?

It is a step towards giving us older, more familiar, functionality back.

Maybe they relize the true calling for SWG is to give as many options to play with one hand?

Heheh, I can see it now.
The whole NGE was a smokescreen. They wanted to get the 30-so professions down to 9. Now, they slowly change us back to CU gameplay, and we're so happy to be rid of the NGE style fighting that we don't complain about just having the 9 professions. Tricky, SOE...you almost got away with it to!

The conspiracy people there would be all over it. Some of the stuff they say on those forums cracks me up.
My favorite was that SOE made the NGE to kill the game so that they would get even with Lucas Arts for some slight or something. Made me laugh when I heard it.

if that was their intent, I believe they achieved their goal.
old hot bar back? thank the force. That would be a BIG plus in my book, tilting my alignment a bit back to the SWG side of the game world for sure. Believe me, I look for every excuse I can find to re-activate my account
The rotten interface was one of my personal gripes.
