The NGE for SWG was our first major impression of how far reaching these changes could be. The reception was quite a bit of controversy within the SWG and MMOG community. What lessons did SOE learn from the delivery and reception of such a massive change to an existing game client?

Chris Kramer:
The main thing that we learned was that we need to begin talking to our communities much earlier whenever there are huge updates coming to a game. We also learned that people really love the concept of creature handling, even if they dont partake of it ;)

I've said I'm a big stickler for not going by anything said on the starwarsgalaxies boards as well. But, Thunderheart has useually been fairly reliant with the info he gives.

I believe he even mentioned something about getting CH, or a form of, back in game while he had mentioned Heavy Weapons awhile back. So, I'll trust that part. That it was at least mentioned on their end.

As far as in game goes. I don't hold my breath till I'm reading the update notes for the day now.

They mentioned at some point in time that one of their long term goals was to bring back CH in a form that every profession could use it, my guess is something like how pilot is now, seperate from your normal profession.

I don't this game will last long enough for a CH to be put back in, besides it would be WAY overpowered just like it was first implemented...

you would now have a CL 90 character that can shoot, or whatever, plus a rancor banging on a person's head

Maybe they will just make it a Trader function and they will be able to sell mounts and pets. Or maybe I will be too busy playing Empire at War

LOL, I think it's great how they put them on the spot and they realized they really messed up. Also, if blizzard or Bioware picked the game up, massive improvement.
