Useful Maps

The Tatooine one has the Hero quest spawn areas on it, for those of yas interested.

Good, now maybe I can use my Ranger Tracking skills in those areas and actually find one of those bastards. So far my tracking skills haven't helped on Tat.

I need those pirates also.. It is terribly annoying when using tracking and seeing a "Pirate Leader!".. then heading out to find it white. Unfortunately, I dropped my ranger skills, so I have to roam aimlessly around the ranch.

Well, I'm a master ranger, so we could all hunt those guys in a group. Not sure if we'll all get what is needed though. I haven't even started the quests.

Gaaralow and I are both rangers so we could split up and cover more ground at the same time.

So Jabe, you have some of the quest badges for the Hero of Tat quests? I'd like to hear about 'em. Give me a call.

Lok'i: To get started you'll have to go to the Squill Cave on Tat and talk to the hermit first. Its simple if not for the huge amount of sqills in there. Take a group of 2 or 3 folks buffed with you and you're good as gold. I'll help if you need me.

I want the Hero of Tatooine as well. Please let me know when you guys are doing this. I have seen the completed orb.. it looks really neat. I want one.

Doing this quest is the epitome of tedium. You search for hours, if not days looking for the farmer... he doesnt show up on the radar or as a map icon when the map is turned on.. and he roams after he spawns.. really hard to spot. I spent about 3 days looking for him off and on.. then just happened to spot him once when I stopped to chat to some hunters.. go figure.

The intellect spawn is also cumbersome. The bounty hunter spawns in static locations on most of the original Tatooine cities. You just go from shuttleport to shuttleport until you find it. The catch is, the bounty hunter will only let 1 person do the quest per spawn. I got beaten to the answer twice in Anchorhead by some idiot who laughed at me afterwards.. then 2 other times I found it, I gave the wrong answer... then the next time I had the right answer.. I didnt talk to ALL of the smugglers.. so I got it wrong again.. then I was entering Mos Entha after successfully killing the BladeBacked Boar.. and thought.. hey lets see if the int spawned in Entha.. and got the badge by luck... again.

The Bladebacked boar is not so bad. I was in a group of 3, and we were aimlessly searching the area it is known to frequent. We spent about 2 hours before one of my group members found the boar. The nice thing about the boar is that it will spawn 3 times in the SAME location. So we each killed it and I got the badge.

What really ticked me off about the whole thing... I mastered ranger with one of my goals to make it easier to do the Hero of Tatooine. I have 3 of the badges.. and not once did being a Ranger help.

Many Many thanks to Jabe for helping me get my Mark of Intellect badge last night. He found the BH in Anchorhead and I booked there like a bat out of hell. The crappy part is when I got there I could not see the BH but Jabe could. So I relogged and two people showed up while I was logging in and started to talk to the BH. Unfortunately for them I completed the quest first. I heard there was much angst on the planetary chat over that. But who are they to complain? They could of just as easily did it to me.

But what goes around comes around. After that I went to the "ranch" on tat to help Jabe get another badge. Seems what we needed were pirates that spawn there. I search for a while with Jabe but no luck. Then he had to log so I search about 20 minutes more. I got exited when I finally tracked the pirates and pirate leader but when I got to their spawn someone named "Hercules" was fighting them. When I got close to check them out I got a "Mine" from the greek half-god wannnabe. So I played the smartass and left him to his business, never actually intending on stealing his kills.

Hercules actually apologized a few minutes later for the rudeness explaining he had been searching for 10 hours and had 3 spawns stolen from him. 10 hours? I could never have the patience to search for ANYTHING for 10 hours. I don't care how rare it is.

Well that goes to prove that rangers CAN find them... And if I was there I would have cited my search for being almost 10 days and proceeded to take them down with unarmed 3.

Had to do the same with the Boar, kill it faster than someone else. Screw 'em - I have had too many kills taken from me.
