Leaving the game in a week or so

Just people know that I may end up leaving the game compleatly. Its not due to some petty infraction by some Jedi or some normal player. It's not due to the completly broken systems in the game and the total lack of continuity that SOE has given us. it's simply because I'm moving to a new state where I'm going to college and I dont have a computer nor the money right now to get one that can handle Galaxies. I do plan on trying to keep my account active but if I run into money trobbles where 15 a month is gona really strain my pocket book I may just cancel my membership then who knows what will happen to Jerrel. I may be able to reactivate before the player purge or I may not so who knows, Jerrel might be as good as dead. But I'd like to thank every one that has made this game a good experience regardless of all its flaws. Alonzo u the man, I think you're the first person I knew only ingame and I enjoyed talkin with ya sorry I couldn't kick it at the Roba more. Ekade and Tramel sorry we couldn't hang out and get more rp sessions on this server before I go but thanks for your support at Mos Eisley. Zannon thx for helpin me out when the GM's first started and thank with your help on Deadly Devices Part 1. I'll continue posting here as often as I can but I'm done with SWG main site forum. I'll try to get back on these forums as soon as I can but I can't promise any thing so to Quote my states governer, with hope and a steady cash flow "I'll be back."

Best Regards on continuing your education Jerrel!

Heres a tip in case you have roomate(s). I know several college ppl in guilds who share the cost of their SWG characters with other roomates. Their class schedules are staggered and when one is in class or studying the other one is playing :D . They recap their sessions for each other in /notepad. Husbands and wives do this also.

Have you ever met somebody in-game who just always seems to be online and not AFK? Yep! That's probably a college "rotation character" right there! :D

As far as a computer for Galaxies, same deal. They all pitch in on something decent.

I can speak to this myself because long ago in a dormitory far away me and my college roomie went half and half on a *gasp* Commodore 128! AcK!

Hey, Seven Cities of Gold and Pirates!, baby! Woo hoo! Don't hate! :D

LOL.. that is old scool. :)

I think the computer of choice when I started college was the Amiga.

My roomie did land a sweet Packard Bell PC junior year. 486-sx, 25 Mhz.

This was back when PC's had a TURBO button. I am not joking.

Bwahahahahh :)

Back in college, I remember heading to school with the then slightly out-dated family IBM PC Jr. (the Jr. is not a joke title). I think you could expand the RAM out to a MAX of 512k. I was just happy that we had 256k on it (with an expansion port...the RAM came in its own case and screwed onto the outside of the PC, making the PC wider and wider the more you bolted on).

Later, Tekla and I chipped in on an Amiga 500. Best money we ever spent as a friend of ours had a connection in the ::coughPIRATEcough:: underworld that would hook us up with hojillions of free games to play.

Big faves were:

Out of This World ("My Tooooba!")
Syndicate
Eye of the Beholder

There was this hacker animation demo called "State of the Art" which ran off of a Double Sided floppy that blew (BLEW!) the 486 owners in the dorm out of the water. We used to love playing it for them and watching their jaws drop.

I started out on a C64 too.
My cousin got me into gaming and i wanted my own and asked my parents about it until they bought one. I was like 9 or 10 when i first played a computer game, talk about starting young *thinks of how long ago that was and starts to sob quietly*.
Ultima 5 was my first game on my own computer, didn't understand half of all the english text, but the Ultima games became the main reason that my english grades have always been better than most others

Personally I'm gona shoot for an Alienware Area-51M laptop with wireless internet the college I'm goin to has hotspots all over it for students to use. I'd also go for the PC version that has a liquid cooling system that sucker never tops over 38 Celcious.

Man you guys are all running super hot IMHO. Seems like everybody is dying to stay under 40c, I have rarely ever seen my PC go over 32c. Al I got is two fans on the case. Seems like certain cards and processors just generate way too much heat. I have a Athlon 2600+ with a Radeon 8500 and my games run great.
