Counting the years until JTLS
Well it seems like years until Jump to lightspeed will come out. It is a good thing to not wait for something because you might and most likely will be dissapointed when you do get it. But on that same note I have been paying my mounthly fee and yet they hold out information on it. Hmm sounds like they are holding out on the games big flaws like how the X-wing dosenot come with windshield whipers and a stero system. Also there is the Tie fighter that has four different types of paint styles but you only get the one that it comes with....Black and gray. As for the YT-1300 it has a dish but no TV meaning you have acess to over 6 million galaxtic channels but you canno watch one. Ahh yes JTLS cant wait...lol. In all fairness I guess some things are best kept secret untill it comes out.

I'm ok with basic cable in the YT. I only really watch Comedy Central and Cartoon Network anyway. I hear in JTL they run Earth Wars: Ep IV Revenge of the Sadam every day for 4 hours.
But in all seriousness, from what I've seen and heard at GenCon I'm stoked about JTL. It looks great, feels like XvT and with the enhancements to the crafting professions and the shipwright profession I'm rarrin' to go.

Well I want a YT-1300 and a B-wing. Favorit ship in the whole starwars was the B-wing. If they come out with the same model as Dash Rendars ship I will take that because it is like them both combined.

B-wing was the only ship I wanted when they said space expansion. I don't know what I will do if they don't have it out at launch. I'm really not a fan of any of the others.

I wanna know what the other ships are gonna be!!!
currently I'm into the A-Wing.. It sounds like a kick but ship..
But bieng a Pirate I think I would like a non-faction ship like a freighter...
I hope they do put another one in other than the YT-1300

I'm going to have to have paramedics standing by for JTL. Because the first time that I am able to make a narrow escape takeoff like on Hoth in Empire Strikes Back I'll probably have a seizure.
Please:
- smuggling! Blockade running, if possible.
- another multi-passenger modifiable freighter other than the YT-1300.
- execution of and defending against boarding actions. Boarding an NPC ship, kicking their butts, and looting their vessel would be niiice! Old school pirate action. YEAH!.
- The ability to name your ship (seems like a given, but Just G was shocked earlier this year when players asked if naming ships would be possible).
My dream "Roleplay ship" would be a tricked out Lambda Class Shuttle.
So common it'd rarely get a second look. Plenty of cargo space (according to the Databank info) for contraband hauling and adding nasty extras. Big control surfaces for atmospheric flight. And folding wings for landing in narrow smuggler "drop spots".
The Freight Skate. Hey, dreamin' is free.

Shocked that people wanted it or shocked that they thought naming wasn't going to be available?

Hey I just now found out that you can name your ships. That means I have to find myself a good name for it hmm...Need a good solid name...

The first part. He stated, in a bewildered tone: "You want to name them?"MrDooo wrote:Keer wrote: - The ability to name your ship (seems like a given, but Just G was shocked earlier this year when players asked if naming ships would be possible).

Yes we would! Duhh!
I feel bad because I can't find that post. It was in the Smuggler archives somewhere.
And if Jaminos is correct, then it's a moot point. I like moot points, don't y'all? Makes decision making so much easier

Hey, there's the name for my "veteran reward" SoroSuub Luxury Yacht. The Moot Point. It's bascially gonna be a "naughty mobile". Yeah, mm-hm.
That, until I can commission The Freight Skate through the Nocturnus "Shipwrights of Night". Credit hoarding as we speak...
Taking applications for Designated Pilot/Navigators to stay sober for me. At least near star systems.

Doh. Forgot all about ship names. Now I have to go out and think of one. Or, I'll just go with my last name for the ship name.

OK, since I hinted at it, but never posted (sorry been busy with other things), here is the information I got about JtL at GenCon after talking to two LA/Sony people for about an hour and a half total between Saturday and Sunday...
1. All ships will be namable by their owners.
2. I was told that there are 18 flyable ships in JtL 3 times by two different people, when I told them I had heard there were only 15, they quickly corrected themselves and said 15...I'd bet on there being 18 at launch, no way that was an honest mistake.
3. When I asked about the 2nd playable race and they wouldn't tell me anything. I brought up the fact that in beta there was a poll that asked what the two next playable races should be and that the two winners were Ithorian and Chiss. The LA rep just looked at me with a big grin and didn't say anything.
4. The technology was still being worked on, but they intend to let guilds create a small unit marking that will appear on all their ships.
5. Flying in a rebel or Imperial specific ship WILL cause you to go overt in space. When you land, you will be defaulted to covert.
6. There will be 6 types of space missions...but that's all they'd say.
7. There are at least 2 craftable, multi-crewable freighters in the game, the YT1300 and another freighter...the Lady Luck makes it three.
8. The Imperial Shuttle will not be flyable or craftable...and it's not on the drawing boards. - This issue I beat until it it was unrecognizable with them. They told me that the ship was not being developed because of it's lack of combat ability. I told them that their development team is filled with too many like-minded people that play the game for combat. I told them that they are missing a market of RPers because of this. I explained to them that there is a portion of the population that would fly the shuttle just to have his/her friends escort it with TIEs where ever they went. WE talked a lot about RPing in SWG and I made a lot of suggestions...I also showed them our forums here. They were attentive but probably had me set to ignore about 2 mins into our conversation.
9. I flew an A-Wing, a Tie Interceptor, and a Y-Wing. The controls were very much like XvT or XWA. The only problem I had was that the throttle was not mapped to the slider on the joystick they had set up and I had a really hard time finding it on the keyboard (control O appeared to be disabled). Visually, the game was BEAUTIFUL, but it was running on the best GEForce card they make which is not available for sale yet. I shot up some Hutt fighters and they looked really cool.
10. I almost forgot this one...they hinted several times that not all neutral craftable ships will be Hutt ships.
11. There will be new clothing and items that JtL will introduce into the game, but you will only be able to make them as a crafter if you buy JtL...so flightsuits and Ithorian clothes will have to come from tailors with JtL.
I think that covers all I talked to them about.

You forgot to mention reverse engineering for Shiprights.
From what Zannon told me at GenCon they mentioned that folks will be able to retrieve cargo items from space and bring them to Shipwrights who in turn can reverse engineer the item and gain a new schematic. I think that is just plain sweet as candy.
