I just wanted to post the first line of the patch updates that were pushed out today because I thought it was pretty funny.

So does anyone know what was going on last night to cause the server crash?

I know we all saw that message on our screen (3 or 4 times) and wondered about it.

What struck me was they used the word "maliciously" meaning some folks somewhere were doing something to tick off the devs. I don't know if it was some sort of protest or just a bunch of folks being dicks.

I'm just curious.

Perhaps. But knowing the majority of people playing this game they are not organized enough to create cross server chaos.

What? The server down time was a malicious attack? How did I miss this?

There was a protest on Euro-Chimera in Bestine where people were calling pets and stuff. No idea what they were protesting exactly, but uh...yeah.

Neither did they, I am sure... which is typical of most people who protest.

Nope, apparently Bria and some of the others were having issues. Chimera being one.

Well Euro-Chimera doesn't effect us.... at least I don't think.

From the looks of the outage Eclipse and Gorath went down.

From the looks of that server message someone was doing something they shouldn't have. The message was something like "For all those malliciously calling pets, droids, speeders, etc please cease these actions" and then something about banning or suspending accounts if they did not stop.

My guess was somewhere on the server a large group of people were gathered and removing speeders and pets and such all at once to cause a server disruption in some sort of protest.

I say protest all you like, write letters, do whatever, but don't brig the server down and ruin those of us who are enjoying the game at the moment. Thats like a bunch of anti-war protesters blowing up a 4 city blocks with C4.

No, after it came back up. Thats why it implied to me that some large group of protestors or just plain idiots caused the server crash in the first place and the warning was telling them not to do it again.
