One method I teach my hunters is to use the /findFriend command to track their prey. Sometimes they have to coordinate this with the client since the client and the mark have at some point exchanged words...and 95% chance that their both on eachothers friends list.
I propose to use this feture in tracking marks. Once the job is accpeted, both Mark and Hunter can put their names on eachothers friends list so that the mark can be tracked. Sooner or later...they'll stop just long enough for the hunter to catch up.
Talk about it amongst yourselves.
Using the /findFriend command to track your marks.

This is totally perfect as an idea. It automates some of that "last seen by probe droids" kind of thing nicely. And the target can still move too of course so it's not like you get a free lock on the target.

I think this is an option but should only be used once you've contacted several of their known contacts sort of like Spynet operatives giving your their Bio Sig to track. Once you've made contact with the apropriate people they will notify you and the mark that /findfriend will no be allowed.

I agree with Hashum, if this is used right away it may negate the "Associates" system. Novall has a good point and idea, but there should be an appropriate time to use it.
Now you could say its useless if your Mark is on Naboo and you're on Tatooine. Then it won't help you and you must find their associates to find out they live on Naboo.
But I do believe /findfriend should be used at some point in the Hunt. Its more immersive rather than sending the person a /tell and saying "Hey I know you're on Naboo now, send me a wp."

ooh! Good stuff.
Given that the hunter can do /findfriend anytime they want, it will be up to the hunters themselves to RP through the contacts since we can't enforce it.
Ideally they would RP through the contacts for greater immersion.
Hopefully Hunters will not forgo the roleplay in order to be the first to a mark.

Well as a rule of thumb those that register as a Mark might want to remove the BHs they know from their friends list temporarily. This will prevent the BH from using /findfriend at all until the time is right.
Not that the BHs here would jump the gun, just that we don't even want to give them the chance to be tempted.

Oh good idea. I like that. Now how should the bounty hunter's register? As in should each BH have his/her own thread, or should we post as a reply to the thread you started in the forum?

I did? I'm never 100% clear Ekade you know that.
Well lets think about this for a sec. Marks should have their own threads, sure, because they are disposible. Once a Mark has been caught that person deletes the Mark persona and posts another later.
But BHs never go away and if this system is popular, even if only by those on this board, we could end up with quite a few BH registry threads to sift through. And if there is tons would the Clients want to look at them all or just maybe the first 3 or 4 at the top? Even if all BH register under one thread that will still add up to a lot of pages to look through.
These are all things we need to explore. What is the best and easiest method here?
Also, I will add this to the rules, when marking down your affiliation besides your guild you should also mark whether you work soley for the Empire, the Rebellion or Impartial. I know many BHs are impartial but there is probably a few clients who only want to work with Imperial or Rebels BHs.

That was my thought. I think we should have one post and people can just browse the post. Having 50 or so BH's will make it hard to navigate I think. I could be wrong though, but who wants to click on 15 different posts looking for someone with the skills they need for a job when they could just scroll through 1 large post. Just my opinion though.

I prefer the many posts method.
Advantages: You can view many Hunters on one screen. This is far easier than scrolling through one monster post.
There should be a ranking post that is a sticky. This way if someone wants to hire a particular hunter, they can write down the names of the top hunters and review their profiles.
I would like to see each hunter update their profile at the end of each hunt, and maintain a list of Marks bagged (and player name of the Mark).

I agreed, many posts are easier to navigate than one multi-page thread.
Good idea about the rankings being stickied, but I'm actually going to keep a record off the forum in an online HTML page. It will eventually be linked to in a sticky like you mentioned and from the SWG Tales site.
BHs should update their successes but only I will update the sticky. Call me the impartial one. This way if any BHs come along, and I don't mean Novall or any of you already here, that are dishonest we can verify their ranks using the master rank list. I don't want to sound like some sort of adminstrator here.....oh, wait, I AM!
