Launchpad Issues---I gotta rant, y'all

Sorry folks but I gotta rant here..

What the hell is up with Launchpad? I've tried every conceivable technical tip provided in the forum and still can't get it to allow me to launch the game. This has included:

1. Moving the Launchpad.exe file to the SWG install directory.
2. Deleting said .dll files and allowing them to be reloaded.
3. Going into compatibility mode and running in ME/98 mode
4. Deleting the entire launchpad altogether and reinstalling it.

I can appreciate preparing for JTL and if this was a problem I had created I would not be upset. However, I'm paying for this service as are all of you. It's complete bullshit that this does not get immediate attention. I can see a day or two perhaps. A week? That's just being inept. We've got SOE tech service reps telling users that they're system date/time might be incorrect or they have bad RAM. That's a load of crap. If the system time/date was incorrect, it would effect the day to day running of programs and the OS itself. I highly doubt everyone's system RAM is defective either. Where do they get these people? Again, they are inept.

I just signed back on to the game after a three month absense and already I'm ready to quit ..again. The only thing keeping me in this game is my friends in game. You guys rock!

I had a similiar problem. The first night they patched in the new download it took a while and it went through. The second night I couldn't get past "connecting." I tried everything under the sun. Then I reset my router and BOOM I was back in. I couldn't understand it, nothing else had a connection problem except SWG.

Skarr is also having a similiar problem but I think his is worse. Drop him a line and see if he hasn't found a solution.

I hear ya', Ill. I'm starting to feel cursed here in these last few weeks. If it's not one thing keeping me out of game it's something else.

I don't want to rant either, but this one here has me talking to myself. I had my computer-ace Siemens engineer best buddy over here last night and he was stumped, which is rare. He got Keer in for a grand total of 45 seconds before I got booted.

Him: "That's SOE for ya'. I told you."

Me: "Yeah, you told me 18 months ago about this game you were playing in Beta and how I needed to sign-up if it killed me."

Him: "Well, you're still alive aintcha' ?"

Much smacking ensued... :lol: :lol: :lol:

Not really mad, just bewildered at this point.
