There are those who believe...that combat here...will be decided out there...

...with tribes of Professions...in a distant Galaxy...who may be the combat ancestors of the Riflebeings, the ancient Teras Kasi, and the Combat Medics.

There are those who believe that right now fellow players may be locked in a fierce struggle to survive!!

Okay, now that I've indulged myself (always loved the intro for the old show) what do you wish to see in the Combat Balance. Pick 2-3 things to keep it brief.

I want to see buffs go away. I hate the fact that buffs are now an absolute necessity for combat. As long as they exist everyone will need to drop 15k before a fight or grind.

No buffs

lower HAM cost on weapons

Lower encumbrance on armor

Fix the all but 2 pistoleer shots that arnt broken.

As a doctor,

Buffs are necessary in certain circumstances-keep em for that purpose, ie going up against a krayt(A timer perhaps that says "You can only buff once in 24hrs ect--this would make sure that doctor's still get paid and you could get that extra boost)

Armor has too high resistance. Lower them.

- More accurate buffs. I think they shouldn't just make your bars go up, heal faster AND take less damage. 2 out of those 3 make no sense. I think buffs should simply let you heal faster, dodge more, miss less and fight faster.

- No more dizzy/knockdown combo. I'm all for the effects of dizzy and one knockdown but the combo is just silly and unfair. Sure I use it on NPCs and I'll use it on a player only because a player will use it on me but I'd prefer if it just didn't exist.

- Damage types and resists re-assessed. I just think its silly that some NPCs have 100% resists to blast (they can resist a rocket launcher?) or that you can't do kinetic damage to some others. I mean everything to a degree should be able to take damage from a powerfull kinetic blow. They either need to dish out a few new weapons with new types of damage (like some new knucklers for TKs) or adjust the resists on a few creatures. Not by much, just enough so they do SOME damage if only a little.

I agree that buffs are ridiculously overpowered. Buffs should give a % increase on stats, instead of just a base number. This would make adjusting your stats actually mean something. I would also like to see buffs be able to be self-administered. All other stat increasing items (food, spice) are self-administered... how hard is it for somebody to be able to poke a freakin needle in their arm? Maybe if a doc administers the buff, the buff is of higher quality (no missed veins) and of longer duration.

If buffs are changed like this, then the other types of armor will become useful again. I like the thought of fighting in Ubese or Bone armor.. or even in plain clothes as a TKA. Heck.. if recovery stats are too low, I would be forced to fight with my bare hands (as intended) instead of my Uber vibroknuckler.

I think the dizzy/KD effects for TKA knockdown 2 are just fine as they are. I actually want my knockdown to dizzy/stun/blind/KD/poison and disease my target. /sarcasm off

I would like to see Melee be removed but thats not gonna happen so i ill talk about what i think will happen


Melee will suck against ranged when out of 10m
Ranged will suck against Melee when within 10m ((NOT 20m))
I would like to see armor certs so that some noob isnt runing around in high end armor grinding to make it easier i want them to have a hard time like i did
I would also like to see NO BUFFS and a specials bar instead of specials draining my HAM
I would like to see Dual wield,LS resist for MBH not much but some
I wanna see a smuggler smuggle somthing
Storm troopers killing players that arent masters i want them to stand a chance against a master but will die
I hate seeing one TKA slaughter a unit of ST's i think the ST's should win
I wanna see the same with the Rebel NPC's
More and different armor, and BH armor made into a quest that somone with a cert skill in BH can wear and not just novice but still keep BH armor that makes mando the unltra rare loot
i would like to see TKA wear clothing instead of armor since i think it fits them since they are suppose to be fast and not in clunky armor

thats it for now time to go back to work

Must have been a golden age for the krayt dragons. :-)

nope it was the time when any imp with very little fp's could have out 3 at-sts at once and they krayts (and everything else in the game) was getting gang raped

nope it was the time when any imp with very little fp's could have out 3 at-sts at once and they krayts (and everything else in the game) was getting gang raped
Don't forget the time when us average folks got to use nice pets with good HAMs. And also the times when Tusken Rifles were kinetic damage and FWG5s rocked the world.

So many things to say, so little time. So, here's the wish list

Buffs are taken out
Armor is cosmetic only and offers no res.
Melee is actually melee and can't hit from beyond 5m no matter what the move
Melee is no longer the ultimate power, aka ranged weapons are now the high damage end of the spectrum as they should be.
Faction cost are raised on everything back to the 2k per ST days.
More weapon types for all classes.
Squad leaders are actually a nice class to have in a group.
Smugglers are actually smugglers, and the slicing and spice aspects have been taken out and put into two seperate classes: Slicer and whatever a spice maker should be called.
Col. Haunter is declared Imperial Overseer of SWG and can call down Imperial legions at will.....
