Makes me wanna holla...

Last night, before I left for work, I figured I would go ahead and try to solo one of my tier 3 missions. I had to basically make it to a waypoint without dying to all of the rebel ships that kept coming to kill me.

So, I have a wicked firefight but I managed to make it there to a shuttle, and docked. As soon as I undock, 7 fighters spawn out of nowhere to go with the other 3 that I hadn't killed yet. About 10 minutes and a few skilled manuvers later, I was still alive. I shuttled back to the space station to get part of my armor repaired (when it's 10v1, someone is always on your tail).

I move to the next section, which is to rescue a lambda shuttle. I get there, fight a bunch of fighters off, dock and everything is kosher. Now, all I have to do is escort this lambda to safety.

I came up with the idea to instead of trying to kill all of the fighters that come to try and kill it (around 5 every 1000m), I'd just take out their reactors. It leaves a lot of targets out there, but in the long run it's easier and faster to get through. So, I take out 7 waves of various fighters (how I hate BWings), then out come some tier 4 Ywings. No prob, I'll just do what I have been doing. Then I get the flash message "Incoming Missle!"

Then the game crashes.

I log back in with my ship in total disrepair and at the space station. So there goes 45mins wasted. This is the 4th time I've crashed since installing JtL. It always happens during something that is TOTALLY unnecessary (like a person coming up to say "You'll never get me. Ha!"), but I can't seem to turn these things off.

Sometimes I really hate this game.

I was bounced from the game during fire fights several times. I am almost afraid to progress farther until things are fixed. I am really tired of being mad, but when I am not playing I am bored. I can't win.

OOhhh! Aww man, you have my deepest sympathies.

Reminds me of the old days playing X-Wing and TIE Fighter and my old 486 (5.25 Floppies! :x ) would crash on me right towards the end of my 18th try at some hard ass mission.

Have you tried one of the adjustments that Thunderheart posted the other day? Going into Control Panel-->Systems. Then the Graphics and Advanced Tabs?

I can't remember all of the disables he suggested, but I tried about 3 out of 6 of them and I notice less lag now.

Hmm strange, I have the same processor with 768 RAM. I even have the ZanJet interface. But I got a Radeon 8500 (maybe thats it).

It may be the vid card because my system is extremely humble and I have had no problems.

I feel bad for ya Tramel. We almost had that thing the other night...and you crashed then to. Wednesday night we can get it done with you again if your around.
