Yesterday when I opened the launch pad, right at the top of the notes for the day there was a message that reminded me to check out the terms of service that covered harrassment and such. I was reading it and was shocked to see that on any given day in the cantina, I see moron 15 year olds insulting other players (in a non SW context) and pulling out their flame throwers and such whilst claiming to "beat some p***y's ass". In other words, engaging in behavior that is clearly in violation of the harassment policies that SOE has set up for SWG. I usually ignore it, but I was wondering if anyone else just decided to throw the CSR's a report in any of these instances. If I knew how it worked, I would seriously consider doing it from time to time (nothing helps a bad mood like putting someone else in one), but I was just curious if anyone else gets as irked by this behavior as I do.

I've reported 2 people for harassment before. Basically I report when I deem the person is abusive and may truely offend myself or others. I mean I can take the stupid crap more than most but what pops into my head is how some younger, more impressionable players might get offected by that kind of crap.
I've seen plenty of folks cussing their heads off like they just learned cuss words and calling other players out, I don't report them all because with a simple /addignore they're done but when I see people throw around REALLY offensive stuff like real-life threats and racist remarks I'll report them instantly.
My first report got me a cookie cutter response about how sorry their were I had to endure that and how they couldn't discuss any reprimand (if any) at the time. I don't know what kind of results reporting harrassment yet but I really hope something is being done.

I reported a person a while back when I started the Tat hero quest.
I was waiting at a spawn for the BH and crew, and this guy kept bugging me to duel him. I continued to tell him I wasn't going to duel him, that I was their for a reason, and that Lok'i is not a PVP character. Oh then the joy began. I almost instantly had to /addignore him.
He must have known I did, cause obvioulsy I stopped responding to him, so he startes getting up in Lok'i's face, and running in circles around him.
I reported him and forwarded the chat log.
I also got a generic response.

I have never reported anyone for harassment but there was one day I was at the Tusken Fort (big surprise there) and two people were arguing about kill stealing (not me for once) and one of them called the other the "n" word....
Now, most people know that I'm not black, but just hearing someone use that word got me so pissed off that I forgot about the harassment reports and went off on my own form of justice...
I continued to explain to him how just by using the word proves that he is an ignorant, narrow-minded, simpleton who can't think of any better insult than a word that is quite possibly the most despised word in the english language...
I ranted for about 5 minutes while stealing every one of his kills with my UBER TKM skills....
I find out later that he reports ME for harassment...
And what happens?? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!
Why?? Because I never swore at him, and after all was said and done, I finished with, "but that's just my opinion"
It's times like those that make me wish I had a bigger vocabulary for insults because I was kind of disappointed that I couldn't think of anything better to insult him with, that wasn'ta cuss like Fuck-bag. Always, when you insult someone without swears, it's so much more fulfilling (del'tar and zannon are the kings of insult in my book, but that's because I'm related to both of them haha)

Seret, I agree with the addignore thing, but here is my problem with just stopping there. I am paying to use this service (SWG servers) like everyone else. I have a problem shelling out between 12 or 15 bucks a month so some dipshit can sit there and impinge on my gaming experience. Also, those are the same cocks that sit there and spam over and over and over and over, ad nauseum. Its people like that who cause my 2 fps frame rate. If they get their account revoked, if only for a day or a week, then it is a plus in my book.

If anyone has actually read the new revised conduct code (I did out of curiousity) it says that use of a racial slur of any kind is grounds for immediate termination of your game accounts for all of SOE's games (Not just SWG). If i catch someone doing that, you can bet I would put that person on my buddy list and report him every day until his name didn't show up there any more.
My favorite thing to do though, is to stand by and watch a confrontation where someone is obviously being belligerant and then ask them in a private tell how old they are. Then when they say "15" I usually say something akin to, "Oh...guess that was kinda obvious".
By the way, thanks for calling me out Seret...ass.

I report SW naming violations all the time...I get so sick of seeing sw names in game, Chew- Bocca being the latest...
as far as harassment I only reported it once in recent memory...only because they were reporting me, of Kill-stealing at fort tusken, with 12 other people in the fort, that I took 3 of his kills and was all pissed at me...(seret remembers)
so I told him to grow up and that with all the people in there, it was going to happen, and that i may have "ks'ed" a couple time, but a passed him by dozens of times...well then his friends, who weren't even in the fort, started to PM me harassing me about ks'ing his friend...
I just ignored them, and then decided to report them...got a response in 20 mins saying that the asshat can't tell me what I can and cannot kill, and there is no such thing in swg as kill stealing...
and that was that

But honestly, is loot SOOO important that you can't allow someone else to have it??
Or is XP that FLIPPING HARD to get that you have to attack something that someone else, who is prolly weak, has most likely been working on for 5 minutes and YOU do more dmg than him in 1 hit and he ends up with 200 xp??
The correct answer is NO, if someone else is attacking something, leave it be UNLESS he asks for help...
At the Fort, stuff spawns so often that you only have to wait like 2 1/2 minutes for something new to spawn in any particular area...

One problem i h ave had with the report process is i cant report people who have sent me tell's. I dont know why cause this one jedi got all mad at me and starting calling me a F**,D**k easter and crap like tha and it said i have no conversation in my chat logs so i said forget it but i too report random people doing stupid shit.
Whats really fun to do is report AFK macro's, who say they are afk and watch them get kicked in like 10-15mins at coronet cantina!

I'm there for xp and loot, and if I have to fight for it, then I will when there are many people there, and I was there first....if there are tons of people there when I show up, I just leave because it's not even worth it...
the bottom line is, if you don't like the people at any certain place, then leave and go somewhere else and be happy....that's what I do...
