Indiana Jones 4 - Shooting Now?

I can tell you without looking at any website Indy used a Webley Revolver, If you want one I can find ya one :)
Consider me the weapons guy, The star wars universe has a lot of guns made from real gun parts.
Lucas (his genius people anyway) made molds of real gun parts to fabricate the blasters, like Han's broomhandle luger. There is a gun made from MG42 parts, a carbine that I noticed is an AK47 barrel, front sight base, and gas tube, combined with other parts. and a Rifle that looks like a butchered BAR.

I have heard these Rumors, I will believe it when I see it. Ford is too old, and his daughter would be 10 in the 50's unless they pull some stupid BS like he didnt know about her.
I want to see the (south park) raider's of the lost ark, where Lucas puts in Ewoks, and all the guns are radios...

Ya' might want to check that website and the movies again, Warsloth. Those are Smith and Wesson's that Indy uses. From the movies you can see that the his revolvers are far too small to be of the bulkier Webley line.

The DL-44 that is Han Solo's movie blaster comes from the C96 "Broomhandle" Mauser Military Model of 1896, not the Luger. Two different companies.

The Luger (and some Ruger pistols) can be visually identified readily by the 55 degree angle between the pistol grip and the barrel. An ergonomic design that gives a distinctive look, feel, and function that was way ahead of it's time.

Ya' got a couple more "Weapons Guys" on the forum, Warsloth. :) Just be glad Zannon didn't see it first. He would have posted the manufacturer's schematics...in 3-D

The mauser was a mental slip, The Webley models used by the brits in WW2 (the time frame of the movies)
I dont think there was a broomhandle luger... I end up having to correct myself like that...

but the casing ejector you see in the last crusade, and the way the gun folds forward is just like a webley. I have seen it said elsewhere that its a webley (after I had assumed it myself) but it may just be UK folks wanting to feel better about themselves...

something else:
THE SPEAR OF DESTINY,
the spear that pierced Jesus side, which I saw someone mention, would be really interesting, because Hitler acctually captured it. There is some lore behind it as well. Like the leaders who captured it were unstopable until they would lose it.
there is a story I heard (hearsay) that a leader dropped it on the battlefield after several conquests, and was immediatley killed by arrows.

Hmmm, now that you mention it....
I gotta check that scene. Way back when, I originally thought it was a Webley too.

That one has some legs on it. Though I wouldn't mind them coming way out of left field on the contested item. Something that has been rarely heard of. I remember that the general populace had never heard of the Ark of the Covenant before it was "Raided" in '81.

I remember there was also a story about the Roman soldier who supposedly used that spear to stab Jesus. His name was Casca Longinus and in that act he was cursed with being "The Immortal Soldier" until Jesus' second coming. Former Vietnam Green Beret Barry Sadler, who also composed the "Green Beret Song", took that story and made a successful series of books with Casca as the main character. He'd always be compelled to become a soldier in whatever conflict he could get himself into and when he suffered wounds that would be fatal to mortal men, he'd go into a hibernation, heal up, and rise from the "dead" to fight again. Pretty interesting. Maybe he could show up in a movie like that ancient knight in Last Crusade?

If anyone's seen the movie "The Seventh Sign" with Demi Moore, that Roman soldier character makes an appearance.

There was a special on the Discovery Channel a few years (?) back that explored all of Hitler's occult-esque desired treasures. The Spear of Destiny has a nice portion of the show and as I recall was pretty bitching. Check it.

The Immortal soldier sounds awesome. will have to look that up, allthough I think John was supposedly going to live until the second coming. Even though several people, including the Romans tried to kill him. Theoretically he died in exile, on the Island where he wrote most of the NT, and had the Revelation vision.
The story of John aside from whats in the Bible is interesting. Romans acctually put him in boiling oil, and it didn't bother him.
