I ran this by Ekade last night, and I am thinking maybe its time we move this event for a while. There are so many venues in Galaxies it would be a shame if we didn't try to move around every six months. I thought that we could place a droid to spam the new waypoint at the old venue on Sunday nights.

This is just my idea of course, I think the feedback of this thread will decide if its best. The other question is, if we do move it, where would we go?

Some of the ideas we brought up in the past were:

- Player Cities, to promote them and to introduce their citizens to RP
- Jabba's Palace (issue with not everyone having access by virtue of not completing the themepark
- Various underused NPC cities

For me, place is less relevant than people, but perhaps place can be something that makes more people interested.

We could also use place to shift the Theme of the evening. Perhaps we have a slave auction at Jabba's, or a mystery at Keren, etc etc. It's all dependent on how much effort and participation people are willing to put forth to make things fun. :D

These are just some ideas.. please discuss..

I agree totally with moving this to some player cities, or maybe some of the less used planets like yavin 4 or endor maybe both with a city on Rori.

And advertizing is a great idea, seems like the last month or so it's been the Kreetles and their close friends mostly attending. It would be great to see some new faces that come and share the rp of what is going on right there at the party, seems we loose alot to stop buy discuss a prison break or something for 10 min then off they go taking most of the crowd with them, though I understand that is also rp prison breaks can happen 6 other nights a week.

Sorry if this sounds all wrong

For the sake of "realism" we may just have to roll with the punches on things like this.. as long as they are not overdone. The one time Casino Night was shut down 2 times in a row was kinda bad. That event lost a lot of momentun when that happened. I don't think we have had a full staff of dealers since then.

Maybe as a general rule, try not to hijack an event until about 90 min after it's start time. That gives people enough time to mingle and RP.. and still have the option of going to rescue someone if need be. :D

These events exist to create RP opportunities, as long as this happens I have no problem with the occasional hijack. I guess performing at the Roba has numbed me to much of this. There was a time where the "mass exodus to watch the brawl outside" was a weekly thing. :D

Part of the problem with "hijacking" is that having events during the week is very difficult. Often times during the weekends is the only time events can be held successfully with any number of people on... I think lately events like S&V, the casino, and even the Roba to some degree have seen diminishing numbers simply due to a down time in the RP community and in the gaming community as a whole. Plus the holidays and the new year take a toll on people...new schedules may take awhile to figure out and a lot of people we know just have RL issues to deal with for awhile.

I agree that perhaps moving it to another location would be interesting...maybe another NPC city (Tosche Station, anyone? Very unique layout) or what about the backstage of an NPC theater? Those are really neat.

I think the key here is to try and stay easy-going with everything and just roll with it...try not to be too negative about events or put blame on any one thing or set of things/events. We don't have to be positive, but let's try to keep it from being negative. :)
