Is this good or bad for RP and immersion?

I like it, as it seperates two types of players, the PvPers and PvEers. The PvEers will now be able to take on stormtroopers, rebel agents and whatnot without having some random player interupt that for them. PvPers get to particpate with other PvPers instead of just griefing other players. This will eliminate the campers outside of the Rebel Base and Emperor's Retreat.

As for immersion its all in how you look at it. I see it as two distinct classes of factional soldier. The soldier who picks his fight carefully and the soldier who takes on anyone who opposses his side.

Yeah, but doesn't this lead to the same thing with rebels? They'll be a bunch of rebels with specforce in tow, and there won't be a thing I can do about it. I fully support a overt/supporter system but I am against a system where you can attack Imperials, even if NPCs, with little to no reprisal.
But from what I understand, those NPC Storm troopers will attack on sight a PvE combantant. So while you may not be able to do anything as a player. The NPC storm troopers stationed there will.

Also, from what I understand from the other GCW changes, what troops occupy a city will be determinded by who has the most bases controling the planet. So, if Rebels have control over Corellia, Rebel troops will occupy Kor Vella.

Yes, but just like after the Imperial Crackdown, how well did that do to have Stormtroopers in the cities? Yes, I realize the combat revamp is coming up, but I believe that this will just lead to more cities with dead Stormies everywhere which, no matter what jedi fantasy I may have had as a child wielding my wrapping paper cardboard lightsaber, is just not Star Wars.

Besides, I can remember the old days of being in uniform and sitting in a camp of an Imperial Mission someone took. I can remember them not realizing I wasn't an NPC, then killing them when they made a traitorous move. That was satisfying, and it helped make a name for me in the early days at the Rebel Outpost on Rori.

Man, that was a satisfying feeling, like the first time I ever killed a jedi.

Not sure, but it happened on more than one occassion and to more than one rebel. I even think Nyase has done it. And remember, if they came from another rebel mission, then all Imperals would show up red to them, and that was another way I could have blended in.

If they were coming from another mission with a TEF, then the other npc's around you should have been attacking them, no?

Props on taking advantage of the not so observant!

I love the ideas, but I'm in the doubters crew.

New common lagfest annoyance for big cities:
People farm ST's in major cities while PvP disabled.
-unless they made these fellas worthless for faction, xp, and loot.
Imperial PvP enabled people spam taunt the farmers.
Many people are upset.

The mingling of PvP disabled faction pets is gonna look a little odd for immersion. I guess I could think of it as troops with orders not to fire unless fired upon.

I hope they cover this somehow, 'cause Espada keeps tryin' to drag me out for faction runs so he can get his 'new' armor.
