Anyone seen Constantine yet?

I'm contemplating going to see it tomorrow. Anybody seen it already?

I am scared...

I am a HUGE fan of the Hellblazer comic book. The main thing that scares me is John Constantine is supposed to be british and is supposed to have blonde hair and by god, he had better chain smoke Silk Cuts like a mofo in that movie because I haven't seen him with a cigarette in any of the trailers.

I do want the opinions of fanboys though, although I have a feeling that as soon as Keanu was cast most fanboys had already decided it was going to be bad.

Already watched it opening night. He does chain smoke; but expect a black haired Keanu 'American-ized' version of the beloved Hellblaizer. It was a good movie altogether though. I'd reccomend seeing it at least once.

If you're looking for similarity to the comic, you may be a little disappointed (maybe not, I never read it). But as a movie, it was really cool. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

I took one look at the trailer and deemed this DOOMED from the beggining. Im so angry over the whole Matrix farse that I dont want to go near another Keanu saving the world flick, just to be dissapointed again.

I agree. The second could have been better if the third movie completed it properly. All in all it was a useless trilogy, nothing changed in the end.

Unless the director and producer as super fans, I'm talking geek level fandom here, I always assume that the movie will never resemble the original.

And Isleh is right! If I could ever dream of an actual Independent film career ever taking me to the level of making a big budget comic book movie; I'm going to do my damndest to make it appeal to a larger audiance... not to the select 'cult' following that read the comic. I'll leave the basic alone; but it'll get a new cover and content.

Ok Im lost. What is it about? Ive never even heard of that comic. As such I don't know if I would want to see it or not.
