Open Letter of Apology To The Entire Community

Arrogance. A fine companion when the chips are down against you and you need to "win".

Also your worst friend and advisor when you actually are wrong, insensitive, immature, bitter, and much more.

Bottom line is there really is no excuse, whatever name I want to put on it.

The Truth: I let my bitterness about this game get the better of my judgement and I "had" to make everyone possible feel it. When some of you approached me in a friendly way about it, I told you to go to hell. When they told me "You first, buddy!" I tried to make them feel like shit and alienated them.

I am sorry. Very much so for this.

This comes nowhere near enough to counter the months of irritation. I started off on a very good foot here back in June '04. Stellar. Food for the Ego, though. What happenned after that, is only my fault.

Even more truth: That question that I put out there like it was everyone's duty to ask themselves "Would You Be Playing This Game If It Wasn't Star Wars?", I really only needed to answer for me. And the answer is the same now as it was then..."It Doesn't Matter."

I love the mythos of the Star Wars saga enough to the point that SWG is still good enough...for me. And that's all that should have mattered. Sure, things haven't lived up to many people's expectations, but it could still be fun. But then, most of you already knew that...

Worlds of Warcraft is a great game, but it ain't Star Wars. Galaxies or no Galaxies. Looking back, even on a strict level, it could be worse. It has gotten better.

Sorry, this is more about my treatment of you all, regardless of the game. My mistake was not just taking a break from it and chilling out. Instead I stayed with it and made myself more bitter. Then it got to you all. Too far. Way to far. I acted like some mad Soccer fan, using verbal violence instead of fists.

So...there's probably not one Admin or Moderater here that I haven't alienated, several Tales regulars that I have not wrankled, and the community in general that I haven't at least had looked sideways at me.
Some of you have already let me have it in PM's. I deserved it and more.

In case you had more to say, but didn't for whatever reason, let it rip. It's all in PM's and if it's short of murder, I probably have it coming. Some things probably should be said in public towards me for all to see.

Do so by all means, but for the really rough stuff save it for PM's. There's been too much negativity due to me already.

On that note, owing to friendships that I've probably trashed beyond repair, personal messages are due from me to many of you over the next several days.

After that, I'll probably be staying away for a while.

But I must say, since I wasn't really involved with everything and kept quiet throught the ordeal, I have read the opinions of others.

Sure, you pissed people off, but then again we all realize this stuff happens.

This apology post shows that you have larger balls than Del'tar!
Something I think we all can respect here...

I'm not posting this in jest, I'm just trying to say I don't think you'll have a problem fixing your friendships/relationships you have made here, almost all of us are down to earth people here, and understand.

That being said, I hope to see more of the original Keer.

Stick around man, things get better... and remember.

That is a brave and bold statement. Coming from someone who has both appreciated your presence in the community and later shunned your negativity I have to say I applaud your statement. Not too many people have the guts to come back from such a battle waving a white flag and admitting they may have burned their own friends.

In the end all we were was disappointed. We loved the Keer with a great sense of humor and insightful posts. We just didn't care for hte Keer who added a negative post to sheer mention of the development team. It truly felt as if you turned to the Dark Side (excuse to lame SW analogy).

I myself have to apologize to the community for publically going off on in recent threads. I simply felt the forum itself was under attack and I lashed out like a overprotective father. I should have settling things with a lot less aggression and allowed myself to cool off before I posted my replies. I didn't, and the community suffered for it.

I can only speak for myself but I accept your apology if you will accept mine. I hope this sets precident for current and future battles here on this forum.

I too want to appologize for my behavior in recent threads. As Seret already mentioned we all probably should have given ourselves time to cool off before responding.

When I was still new to this site back in August, you really offered me great advice and insight to help me grow here, and I know I wouldn't have gotten the same out of this site were in not for your early encouragement and suggestions. So thank you.

Keer, regarding what has been said in PMs I can only say that my intent has only been to stand my ground and reflect how I felt about the situation. I do respect you and have not forgotten your contributions here. To that end there are very few people I would have written in such length to. There will always be a place for "old Keer" in this community. Its nice to know that he is alive and well.

I don't hold any hard feelings, as being and admin here has taught me to depart with those and live every day as it comes. I look forward to a day we might have your insight again whether it comes sooner or later. Perhaps me and you will even game together in one galaxy or the next.

I also extend my apologies for my participation in the public shootout that this turned in to, of which I had equal participation. One of our moderators said it best by saying that we need to justify ourselves to the crowd. This is something we have to overcome as a community starting here and now.

I appologize for seconding what Keer said, and basically bringing the game down with a tired rant. No sense in beating the dead horse. or dead white elephant or whatever...

We all make mistakes; We're human beings ((no pun to in game aliens)). That means we're all falable to a certain extent.

In the end there are only a few things that really matter:

1) What you can and can't do.

2) And learn from our mistakes.

Its a game, we're a community of friends. I think with time all things can be forgiven. Just roll with it buddy.
