I just checked the forum data and this is the 1500th post for the board since it opened for business on June 25th! We've come a long way and have gained a TON of momentum. Let's keep it going!!

Thank you to all the fine folk that are making this board a stunning success. Hopefully, after all of us on the GM forum start hatching their evil plans upon the server, we'll grow even more.

Yeah, this is a great site with great forums. I have a question. Are only Nocturnus guys going to get main page profiles, or is that open to all?

Congrats on the 1500 posts. I'm sure I'll be around after you hit 5000. Maybe by then, I'll have more posts than Ekade.

What I want to do with the profiles section of the main site is have it split into two sub sections, "Citizens of Nocturnus" and "Denizens of Gorath", so that EVERYONE can post their profiles and stories about their characters. That way, there is a permanent record of who is who.

So, yes, if you want a profile on there, get working on it, because there will be a place for it.

We definately want to open a profile section to anyone we can, especially you folks running events. Just take one of the existing profiles on the site and fill in your own information, then e-mail that info along with a screenshot to seretsajet@swgtales.com.

A quick note on backgrounds: You don't have to put your full, 100-page background story into your profile. What you can do is write a short summary of your character and then save your long background for the side-story section of the site. The profiles should give people a way to get a quick run-down of where your character is from and where he/she is going.

You know the worst part about that is you were AT the event, but left it way too early. You missed all the great roleplay + badge getting goodness.

Yep. I wasn't there, but I think I remember hearing about RP badges being given out to players at the Tusken invasion of Eisley.

Yes, there are certain badges that can only be attained by a dev giving them to you. Some of them are...

...exceptional roleplayer
...exceptional bio
...credit to profession
...brave warrior
...good samaritan.

At the Tusken Event, Pex (a dev) was there spawning Tuskens in Mos Eisley. It was PACKED full of people. It was so packed that the tuskens were going down like flies. I was about to leave, but Grendel (who was responsible for organizing the event) told me that something else may happen. Here are a few screenshots from it.

GAAAH! I know. Standing in Mos Eisley, there was NOTHING happening. I even got on my swoop and orbited the city 2 times to see of there was anything on the outskirts.

GRRR.. I am still upset about this, if you can't tell. *pouts*

Yep, I was about to leave as well, but I sent Grendel a tell, just in case. He sent me a waypoint to the outskirts where a few more things happened. A lot of people gathered there in a camp as well, but after the spawns, people just dispersed. After a while, Pex just started spawning Executioners. That's when the real fun started.

Hehehe. I was there for that event with the good Col. I got the badge of brave warrior for that. We had a good RP group going for the fight, and once we started 'inspecting' random folks as well as calling for them to return home we had a couple of others join in with us. By the end of the fight though we only had like 4 members left in the group, but we all had a good time. And someone remind me of that link to send my bio to when I bring in my laptop for my bio screen shots.

I'd love the chance to be involved in cool events too. Haven't seen one yet in a year of playing. Guess you have to know an inside friend or what? Not that I think I would be given the honor of a badge, just that...oh who am I trying to kid -- COME ON!

You bring up a good point... there is no good way to communicate information about event. Sure you can post things in the SOE forums, like the Mos Eisley events, but not all players read those forums (and for good reason).

Sending out mass mailings in game can be a tedious exercise as well. This is another reason why I have been encouraging roleplayers to come here. Spreading information is a little easier when everyone is one place.
