Today I had an interview with an FBI agent because I was used as a reference for a friend of mine getting a job with them. THEY KNOW EVERYTHING. And if they don't they will find out. When trying to reach me, they went to my parents house (my mom answered who is recovering from cancer and couldn't talk) - so then found my work cell phone number (which is not in my name) and after I missed my voice mail there, they got through to the extension at my desk without asking the company operator which extension I was at.

It was not a big deal, I put in a good word for my friend - but oh man. I realize they don't wait for you to get back to them. When they need to get something done it happens. I was very surprised they reached me so quickly. When they confirmed my identity they started naming off my work address and other non-critical information to make sure I was the right Scott Fox. It was creepy.

Anyway, yeah - don't mess with the feds.

It doesn't surprise me that they had the extension and cell phone numbers. I mean, I would be a bit upset if the Federal Government didn't have those lists.
