True Friendship

The one thing that I came away with more than anything from last night's viewing of RotS was another firm nod that my buddies got my back.

Last night, ahead of the bulging mass of people trying to load into the theatre, there stood my buddy Rob. Defying theatre security and social pressure to start the customer seating process.

When told by the staff "You're holding up 2,000 people. You either have to go in now and take your seat now or lose it!"

Rob's response. "No".

"I ain't movin'."

WHY?

Because, once you entered the theatre you couldn't leave again unless forfeiture of your seat. Rob had my ticket. It was for a specifically assigned theatre in the multi-plex. And old pal Brian (me) was late getting to the theatre by an hour. If Rob went in and sat down. I would have been locked out.

As I'm walking up from the parking lot...I see this head bouncing up and down in the crowd... :lol: :lol: :lol: ...I couldn't hear him, but I can just make out the movement of his mouth...

"RUN! RUN!"

Past the poison dart stares of a gang of people in line, the movie staff, and theatre security (who do have guns), I briskly walk through the door like a man under threat of assassination.

"Rob, what did you do?"

"I been waiting for this night, for 28 years. NOTHING's GOING TO RUIN IT (his emphasis). You had to be here."

Before this night, I swore that I would not, under any circumstances, carry a lightsaber into the lobby of the theatre. Rob brought 5 of them (the really expensive ones).

I just shook my head, bear-hugged my friend, took the green saber and a total of 9 of us friends walked into....Theater #9.

Then the theater sang out an "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww" and proceeded to axe murder the lot of you ;)

All kidding aside we should be there 7:30 at the LATEST.

here's what you do:

1. have the day off
2. preorder tickets for the 3 pm show
3. get there at 2 pm and walk into empty lobby
4. go to theater, which is empty, and get the best seats in the house, center of theater, first row of the nice "upper deck" with a fence and no other seats in front of you
5. sit baack and enjoy


that's what I did, HELL YEAH!
