Who's your favorite character of the entire saga?
Obi-Wan Kenobi for me. Obi-Wan's always been my favorite, but now that it's all over I'm even more sure of it.
Mainly it's because of Episode 4. Lucas is somewhat of a fan of the old kung fu and samurai movies. I am even moreso. Obi-Wan Kenobi just reminds me of those old humble kung fu masters from the movies that lived as a hermit waiting for a worthy pupil to pass on his ancient style to (the scenario's been used in innumerable kung fu flicks). You get the feeling that the guy's not quite "all there", but still he drops some profound wisdom gems on you.
Yoda fit that mold too, but...Kenobi had a beard and sideburns like those kung fu guys :lol:
And when ethereal Obi-Wan tells Yoda in Ep 5 about recklessness, "So was I, if you remember." it sparked something in me that I've been waiting to see for over 20 years, a reckless Obi-Wan.
I think that I got to see some of that in Ep 3. When he tracks Gen. Greivous to Utapau he just drops down from the ceiling into the middle of Greivous' entourage, cocky as all hell.
And now I know that in his exile on Tattooine, he's learning how to commune with and transform himself into the spirits of the Force. I'd really really love to know more about Obi-Wan's time in the Jundland Wastes. I hope it comes to light sometime.

Favorite Character of the Saga?
Ice Cream Maker Guy. His story is even sadder now that you learn how his master really died. GL totally rewrote that EU story with EpIII.

R2-D2 is has been my favorite character since I was a child.
but if I had too, I would say Obi is also a good choice.
Reasons for R2? He's determined, even when hounded by the all time Nag, C3PO. He was key in all the movies, And I think he is the first character you ever see. It's obvious that the movie is all about R2.
He's Johnny on the spot, and he's served everyone from Qui-Gon, to Vader. His determination kept him going through 6 movies. If they were to make episodes 7-9, I am sure R2 will be in each of them. Or at least he should be.

I'd have to say that my favorite character would have to be:
Lando.
I mean give the man some credit. He's a scoundral and suave mofo if I may say so. Lando acts as a "foil" if you will to Han Solo. Lando represents everything that Han used to be, before he became "civilized"(some may say he sold himself out--another discussion though). In the end, Lando redeems himself by saving Han and becoming a selfless hero by leading the dangerous mission to the second Death Star.

Well, I never really was a fan of Obi wan, personally because you don't really know much about him. You get bits and pieces in passing from the original trilogy and that's about it.
I am with Keer though, the role defining Ep III Obi wan definitely gets 2 thumbs up. He is a little reckless, but also calm and calculating...and he is pretty f'ing tough. He needed that character definition and I think Ewan McGreggor did a fantastic job of it.

I love a good bad guy.
You have to admire the work-ethic of evil. They just flat-out get it done. Of course the whole power-hungry paranoia, lack of trust, turn against eachother thing always blows it for them in the end.
Obi-wan and Hand Solo are at the top of my list too. Vader used to be.. but I guess we know too much about him now and the mystery is gone. Palpatine.. there is a whole ton of stuff that we do not know about regarding him. Mystery is what makes things fun.

Honestly I dont think I can narrow it down to one single character. Fett is probably the coolest looking SW character. Lando and Solo are definately the wittiest. Palp...the most evil ofcourse.

The EP. 5 Yoda. I haven't seen Ep 3 yet but the Yoda in I & II just wasn't the same. I swear every time I see him beat on R2 with that stick I lose it.
