^ The essence.
THIS is the type of threat that I'd personally like to see more of in the criminal side of SWG. The above scenario would be the motivator to stay low profile in several of the Player Bounty patch ideas put forth on the SOE Smuggler Forums going back to Launch.
Not every Smuggler player would be for it, but there could be an "accept/decline" option at a certain point so no one would be gated into PvP.
Right now as a space crook, the only threat that I face is the lightweight Imperial contraband scan (8 for 8 successful evasions so far). Accepting a duel in a pre-meditated fight with a BH is one thing. But being on the lookout for shadows after defaulting on a spice delivery...grimy, son, just grimy.
But I'd better steel myself to wait longer. Even with possible NPC Bounty Hunters in the multi-part Smuggler Revamp to come, Player Bounties would probably not come along for a long time after.
