As part of the Rebirth this site is officially sponsoring a new string of events called "Tales." It was kicked off with some RP in the last coupla weeks and then got many of you involved last night with the dungeon that appeared under Nocturnus. We are hoping to involve anybody who wants to participate on both the player level and GM level, and keep a constant story line going. We want to foster some RP growth in this community and show Gorath that this community is where it's at. And here's how we plan to do it:
This will kinda run like that game we all played in grade school where a story is started by one person then continued by another, and so on and so forth. Essentially the story that was kicked off by the team can be taken in any number of directions depending on the GM of the week. Events can be as simple or complex as that GM makes it, and only needs to loosely stay within the boundaries of the current story arc.
Anybody can volunteer to GM. It won't follow a strict weekly schedule, but we plan to have 2-3 GMs lined up at any given time. And the Tales team will be here to help support those who need the help (advice on how to get things done, NPC volunteers, use of RP-BOT, getting Dev help, etc.)
Here is the basic story line for the current Tale:
A resident doctor in Nocturnus (bothan named Nile, and former player) had stumbled onto the true origin of the town of Nocturnus in discovering a terraforming station buried underneath. The town had been won in a game of Sabacc from Borvo the Hutt, but she hadn't truly known what she had lost. Nile uncovered much information but before he was able to share what he found he was killed. By whom and for what reason we don't know. Before his disappearance he had been working at a dig site in town. This site collapsed to reveal the terraforming station that stretched underneath Nocturnus. This station was destroyed.
Who is behind this? Who knew about it? Are there more stations on Lok? Is Lok in imminent danger? Are other planets in the Outer Rim facing similar dangers? What reprocussions will we face after destroying the Noctunus station?
These are some possible avenues to take the story. But it's definitely not limited to these. We have the next GM lined up and ready to continue the Tale, and we are looking for 1-2 more right now. ANYONE can do this and involve much more than the town and townsfolk of Nocturnus. Please contact myself or Seret if you're interested.
Hope this turns out to be as big as we're imagining,
The SWGTales Team
