Why do you think they nerfed the xp gain?

I can think of only one reason to slow down the xp gain...

and that would be so that for new players it would take longer to achieve their skillset goals, and not knowing how it had been before, would take that a the norm and strive to earn their template...since it would take longer, they'd have to play the game longer, thus paying SOE longer...

Why do this since it would piss off most people already playing?

because most people that have been here awhile are set in their templates, and don't need to grind out the xp

about the only veterans that needed the good xp were jedi, and most non-jedi bitch about how there are too many jedi anyway...I can never tell if SOE wants more or less jedi in swg...

so anyway, that's my 2 creds...

When you think about it from the possition that there are to many jedi this was a good idea that no one liked. Like Skor said most players are set and dont really need any more xp. New gamers will more likely stick to their professions when they see how much work it took to get to a certain point. And, jedi will fear geting hunted by a BH because the lost xp would be a huge set back. I could see people actually losing enough xp that they actually lose jedi. I know that would suc for the jedi but think of it from SOE position. We can't just hit the reset and clear the servers of jedi so lets make a game mechanism that would thin the jedi out. When you look at it, it looked like a good idea on paper but when implemented no one liked it so they changed it back.

It was my opinion when they nerfed it and it still is now that it should have been nerfed. Just not as badly as it was. The other issue was that they stated that grouping and solo'ing were being balanced so group did not have such a heavy advantage. That statement was pretty stupid, IMHO. It is a MMORPG. You should have to group to accomplish big things.

They are trying to control the rate of experience gain. I think the problem is there is too much of an extreme between the casual player and the power gamer.
