Forum Avatars "
Should you decide to use an avatar not already in this sites library you should be aware of a few things.
1. You need a place to store an avatar. There are plenty of free places to store data and images on the net. Perhaps you can start your search here: Web Hosts
2. Ok. Now you have a place to host your file. What else do you need? Oh you need a unique avatar? Perhaps you can find one here: Avatars
3. Hmm... What's that? You want to make your own avatar? You aren't sure how? Well my friend don't despair. I am sure the answer lies here: HowTo
4. In order for your avatar to now be displayed you must paste the link to the offsite file where it asks for it in your profile. Then submit the changes. (this will hereto be refered to as the Hashum rule)
5. Now that that is taken care of you can once again enjoy your forum in peace. Just remember that your avatar must meet the guidelines of the forum rules as outlined here: http://swgtales.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2586
Forum Signature Files "
There has been much debate about these and how to create them. This post will attempt to address some of the issues you may have in uploading personal signature files to the SWGTales forums. I am by no means an artist and I can't tell you how to make one. But I can help you help yourself.
1. You need a place to store a signature file. There are plenty of free places to store data and images on the net. Perhaps you can start your search here: Web Hosts
2. You need to create a file? This is not something I am an expert at but here is some info that may help you.
a. Free Image editing software: http://www.ultimatepaint.com/ or http://www.freeware-guide.com/dir/mmedia/imagedit.html
b. How to make forum signature files: This is the artsy part of the question. You may be able to get assistance from someone else but your best bet is experiment and learn. After all, we can't teach creativety.
3. In order for this to be displayed in your sig you have to make sure the file is in JPG format and then paste the link to it, inside
