Infinite Crissis (Comic Book Discussion)
Ok I just picked up IC #1 last week and since I cannt log onto DC's forum for some reason, I thought hey there's a few comic fans here. Any one who's read this want to start a discussion about it? Who's behind it? What is the crissis? Is it really a COIE sequel?

I'm not sure if I'd call it a sequel or not really. I did see a quick write up of it somewhere though. Basically it's the same premisis of the last series. Dramatic changes to the timeline of characters... deaths, rebirths, etc, etc...
I can never take these as being too cool though. It seems like this is where the comics of today turn to when they run out of ideas. Let's just throw them all together and have everyone fight everyone and buy some time in the aftermath to 're-explore' the characters again for the 4th or 5th time.
A Marvel example... if they killed off Peter Parker one year... Or in DC... Superman... why is it we always see them back within the next year again? You know, like nothing ever happened. That's why I've gotten to where I treat the comic book mythology as a series of What Ifs. I doubt I can see this one as any different.
But... I do hope we get to see some of our favorites serve up some good dialouge this go around. That's really what makes the read worth it. Well, to me...

Well the big deal of IC if it is a sequel to COIE is that something major might change. In COIE we had the factured cotinuity of DC fixed (for however long that lasted, not a big DC fan at the time) so some think that IC might fix some major problem the company has. I for one think it might be the pasage of time. Batman is for ever in his early 30's but the first Robin (now Nightwing) has went from a young teen to his early 20's. DC has already said that after IC is finneshed all DC books will have the very first sentance on the first page be "One year latter." That and the fact that COIE did involved some time travel aspects leaves me to believe that DC may do something about the lack of consistency when dealing with time.
(Spoiler Alert)
If you have not picked up Ifinite Crissis #1 and plan on doing so do not read.
At the end of IC 1 Superman, Superboy, Alexander Luthor, and Losis Lane from Earths that were erased at the end of COIE droke through some barrier into (I'm guessing) Earth Prime. So I think it's pretty set that IC is a sequel to COIE.
On side note this is the 20th aniversary of COIE
