You can sweep from side to side with a ranged weapon. Works best with a pistol or carbine.
To try it out, find a large noob mob outside a city and just click and hold down the left mouse button. When you move off one target and on to a new, you start firing again
Some things I've noticed
That's one thing I kinda like. It's an instant cone effect. It's bad when you're WANTING to focus in on one target, and stuff comes in around, but when stuff is aggroed everywhere and there's a "why not" factor...yeah.

it makes sense though. when something's in the middle of a group, you SHOULD have a hard time hitting JUST the one. You don't get to shoot through one creature to hit a different one.... just makes sense now.

Yeap, I do LOVE this facet of it. Take if off the locked FPS forward and you can finally spray attack!
What they need to work on, and I've already posted on the galaxies forums (if they'll listen is another matter), is to put in bumping on creatures/npcs. It's not so much the grouped mobs as it is two or more thingies occupying the same space and time that makes it a little too difficult in places.
The solution is either put in bump mapping on the enviroment... or give us back a Tab Lock so we can concentrate on one creature. I do like spraying though. It's fun.

I thought of that, but I had a problem of following 5-7m away from the mob.Jabe Adaks wrote:Melee/Jedi BIG HINT:

saberthrow. or force lightning will slow em for a while, saber throw to start, when they start to take off, force lightning when force lightning starts to wear off, use force grapple, rinse and repeat.

Accaraggm or whatever the hell it's called. It gives around +80 to terrain negotiation for about 15 minutes i think? Not sure about the time, but i am positive of the effect.Isleh wrote:I thought of that, but I had a problem of following 5-7m away from the mob.Jabe Adaks wrote:Melee/Jedi BIG HINT:

Also, increase the amount of "dead zone" in your options for less chance of moving off your target.

I don't believe terrain negotiation is a modifiable stat in NGE. Everybody has the same rate. I could be wrong.

They have maintained that soon they will be adding in collision detection to prevent mobs from occupying the same space along with the ability to really jump and hide behind the environment. These are changes that needed a lot more testing to be included with the NGE. We will see them in the near future though.Sai'nu wrote:Yeap, I do LOVE this facet of it. I wish they wouldn't have pushed all these changes so quickly. If they had released the total package, I think a lot of the people that are leaving now might not have because I think the final NGE will be a pretty good system.

I whole heartedly agree Trasgo. But now their in a situation where they've released some of it... and have everyone going 'your game sucks now' and now have to scramble to pick up the pieces for those 'waiting around' to try and make them stay instead of nailing the coffin shut on the communities 'I hope it fails' vibe.
This is great news though. Mobs shouldn't be as hard to deal with and with other fixes should fix exactly what some people have been screaming about.
But, I think we're pretty much stuck with the Hybrid FPS feel now. No getting around that one.

I am 100 percent sure accaragm boosts terrain negotiation and 100 percent sure that it does, in fact, work. I used it running around on Tat doing the legacy quests because my speeder was bugged and I couldn't pull it. It was taking too long to run up and down the mountains where that little dungeon is located.
