It's just their patterned attempt to force veterans to buy the starter kit to boost sales along with new subscriptions. It was the same with the Total Package, and it worked judging by the number of BARC speeders I saw,

They just didn't realize the catch is that people have to enjoy the game they are buying the starter kit for.

No, I don't. I don't see any use in it. I can handle myself with the shuttles. Hell, if they took away vehicles but gave them to noobs, I wouldn't care. I cannot grind on Mustafar - but I don't care. I am satisfied with what I have earned myself in game and I don't have nor the needs for additional stuff, nor envy for something others got even for free. I cannot take anything from the game into real life as I cannot take anything from real life to afterlife. I enjoy the game as I make it for myself. When the joy is gone, I will take a break.

I am a non-materialist myself... but this gives them an advantage, and harms the game economy. Player cities have been strategically placed (specifically those with shuttles) for the purpose of making money through shuttle volume.

You can't launch into space. It functions as a travel terminal, not a ship terminal from what I read.

What I would like to see is a quest where I can get something that would function as a full ship terminal.

Don't just give it to me, make something that useful as a reward and part of the game content. I have enough junk that will that nOOb with a harthstone jelous.

Amen. The ever present search for "loot" is ridiculous. I've given up on loot along time ago. This search plays on America's obsession with materialism and wealth. The end result of said action is creating a virtual elite that can spew out intolerance and anger(see SOE forums)

Not really jipped at all. I can get where I want to go just as fast. It's just another money maker for SOE. Doesn't break the game economy AT ALL! Will people try and sell them? Probably... if they don't make them 'No Trade' Items. And I hope they do. That way they absolutely can't do anything to the economy. Even if they are... I can just set my clone spot where I want now and have an 'instant' hearth back from anywhere in the galaxy. This just seems like something else for everyone to whine about at this point imho.

They don't neccessarily go hand in hand. Some of use tried to keep up with the top gear so that it was easier to compete, which in turn meant the competition was fun. I had some pretty top gear (most of which I went after myself, I never paid for a single pearl and I got all my CAs for my first Jedi suit through looting or trading, not shopping) but it was never with the intent to turn around and put down anyone.

Simply because most people acted this way, does not mean that they were completely tied to one another.

....I need to stop caring It's not like any of my stuff means jack now anyway
