There are replies from hardcore RP that hate the leet-speak dewd PvPs, and from the hardcore PvP that think all RPers are n00bs, but the most interesting responses are from the middle.
These are the people who want to RP when they play, but are turned off by the hardcore on both sides.
The responses that bothered me the most are the ones that said they tried to RP, but were smacked down by the hardcore RP for not doing it exactly right. I mean, At least they were trying. I really hope I never see that happen on Gorath.
It would be great to see more PvPers try to roleplay their fights. I don't think we should hold out much hope for the 15 year olds of Delta or ADV or whatever they are now, but maybe some of the other groups will start acting like they live in the Star Wars Univererse, instead of treating it like Doom3.
Anyway, I just thought I would share this with you all and see what your thoughts are.
Interesting RP vs PVP discussion on Sunrunner
My take on the who thing...
Who cares and make liberal use of /addignore.
The second you start arguing with a "dewd" you have already lost. Also, don't break character. This always gets em.
Most of these are children. Children have short attention spans. Don't fuel their entertainment and they will move on.
I encounter hecklers at least once a week. They really don't bother me. I am having a blast with my RP. The way I see it, they are missing out.
You do raise a good point Scragg, and that of RP elitism. Elitism in any form is bad. This is why many RP'ers are in favor of suggestions, guidelines, and "lead by example" verus hard and fast rules.

- The Kika'Vati Order
The nice thing about that discussion was that there seemed to be a majority of people who want to RP, and want to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe, even in PvP.
I myself tend to be more like those middle of the road people. I enjoy the RP and try to stay in character most of the time in game. I usually just ignore the PvP kids, which is real easy since I don't enjoy the fighting part of the game anyway. I am not by any means a good RPer, but I still try, and I appreciate the efforts of Ekade and others to help me enjoy RP.
