Anyone else have this problem?

I have been trying to enjoy this game, and I think that it might be possible, save for the fact that I am having some general weirdness going on when I play.

When I go to attack someone, there is about a 30-40 second delay from the time I start shooting something to the time that their HAM starts responding to the hits. NPC's that I have fired upon will run up to me and just stand in front of me for about a minute or so...then they will start attacking me and their HAM will start dropping. Now the weird part is, that you would think it's just normal laggyness, but it's not. I am still getting good fps, and everything is loading up quickly.

I even turned down all of the graphics settings and turned off the built in vertex pixel shader to see if maybe it was my system settings that were the problem, but it's not.

It is making the game nearly unplayable and I am wondering if anyone else had this problem and hopefully has a fix.

I think you might be catching the East Coast Lag issue. It's highly noticeable for me since I'm on dial up. For most of you I doubt you should see any difference at all with a high speed connection though some people even with high speed have been saying the same. So, it seems a little random but it is a known persistant issue on the East Coast Servers like Gorath. All TH would say is their working on it.

Play on a server like Ahazi and ya shouldn't see the same problem. Been testing on the Non-East Coast Servers just to be sure myself. There is something amiss on their end.

Krusshyk try another server and see if you have the same issues. I think you can google which servers are west coast.

Also, I recommend deleting your profile directory in SWG installation so that the game gives you a fresh, new default profile. This helps a lot of client side problems.

It's not just you, Krushyyk. I've been having pretty much the same identical problem. Total lag for 30+ seconds, then all kinds of stuff going on all at once as I catch up with what happened while I was lagged. FPS stays steady, and I may or may not show packet loss at the same time. I tend to blame SBC, but the symptoms are exactly as you described.

Hmm... That sounds like what I dealt with playing from a satellite connection in the asian area of operations.

I have this problem from time to time. I haven't found any solution but it only seems to happen on occasion and typically only when I'm on Mustafar.

It just seems like everything else is running fine the animations are all working the HAM bar's just don't seem to reflect damage, although after the 30-40 seconds it seems like all the damage done during that period hits at once.

I find this very rare though, is this happening to you during each encounter?

Yeah, it should be in you StarWarsGalaxies directory. Just to be safe, copy it somewhere else first. Then load the game and make sure your settings are all reset before canning it.

I see it too. Things stop then the game plays catchup. I also see it when I use a rifle. I'll attack with a special and suddenly the mob pops right in front of me. If I want to use smoke bomb, I have to stop and do a mental count to 6 to make sure it works.

I don't have any packet loss though

So I don't think it's SOE for me though. Or at least they are not the biggest part of the problem... in this case. I think it's my ISP. Kinda like what I am sending and receiving comes in spurts and if I click for a special or stop moving to use smoke during a gap, I'm SOL.

Adelphia has explained it as "... A latancey issue with old equipment and cabeling in your area combined with high demand. We are currently working on upgrading...". I explain it as a bankrupt ISP that is/was running under chapter 11.

Could also be my computer. It's 3 years old. That's kinda like dead-and-in-the-grave in computer years.

C - My computer has issues

I would say its mostly your ISP as well. I would have them fix that. If you're having problems hearing Ventrillo then thats some pretty serious packet loss.

Yeah...

If I get home early, it's not uncommon to see my connection go dead several times for 10 min to a half hour between 5 and 7 pm. Luckly, I'm hardly ever home at thet time.. woot
