A little Jedi stopped by the inbox today with some information fans have to pray is actually happening. Rumors at best folks ... ones we love, but we have to remind you: rumors!
You didn't hear this from me, but you might be curious as to why everyone at ILM just signed NDA's (Non Disclosure Agreement) saying that they will not discuss Star Wars EP7, 8, or 9. Since they're not being made, why the NDA's? Of course, since when has the flannel one been consistent?

Based on what he has done with the prequels, I am not sure I want to see more of this.

I am in total agreement. I think the only way it would rock would be to:

1. Have it based on the Timothy Zahn books.

2. Produce the movie with Steven Speilberg or possible have a quality writer like Zahn have writing credits.

3. Have someone talented direct the movie, such as Josh Whedon or Bryan Singer.

As long as he does the Zahn books, and does not sprinkle some of his famous Lucas poop all over it - they should be damn good movies. I have always wanted to see Thrawn on film.

Anyway, I've long thought about the dynamics of any continuation of the Star Wars story after Episode 6. Here's my take:

The "Force" is nothing compared to The H.G.M.. The Hollywood Greed Monster.

Of all the monsters in reality and fantasy, Hollywood Greed has proven itself time and time again to be the most insatiable and invulnerable of them all. How many stories has this beast ripped apart with it's "Claw of Unjustified Sequel"? Follow the "Trail of Movie Studio Shareholders" and at the end of it you may find the Hollywood Greed Monster sharpening it's "Axe of Maimed Artistic Integrity".

I would easily bet that before George Lucas' corporeal form has *disappeared* under his flannel shirts and Grizzly Adams beard, that we will all see at least one more Star Wars movie, set sometime after Episode 6, regardless of whether Lucas has any direct part in it or not.

I have no idea what the details might be, and I doubt that Lucas would do it for money anyway, BUT he is, or has become recently, a sentimental type of sod who would feel sympathy for all of the jobs that would be lost in his multi-media empire if there were no new Star Wars movies to be made.

And, I'd think that the Lucas-ites would say "To hell with the Expanded Universe! We've already made our billions off of that. Let's do something different."

The one possible sequel that I'm amazed was able to escape the HGM was "Top Gun 2". Not that I'd want to see it necessarily, but that's the type of movie that HGM writes home to Grendel's Grandmother about.

Sure, no one knows for certain, but I'd betcha my bone marrow that the Hollywood Greed monster wins out......again.

well I think if they let Timothy Zahn do all the righting the movies would be great. And what about the new jedi order I think they need to make movies on those books they are great and if they stay with the books it will make a great movie line heehee.

Bah. Screw the new jedi order series. It had some good moments, sure. But over all, the series is complete crap. I think they should just stick with zahn's books if they do indeed make a sequal. He's got some of the most known star wars characters that were never in the movies.

They couldn't really do the Thrawn Trilogy with the original cast do to the age of the actors and the time frame the Thrawn Trilogy took place. Unless of course he did it all CGI....hmmmm.

I predict in the future that CGI will be so accurate and detailed people will not only make movies like that but a market for novelty television will form.

Imagine new epsiodes of of the Leave it to Beaver or some other very old tv show with new episodes completely computer generated and in appearance looking completely genuine. Sure I sound nuts now, but in 20 years I bet I will be watching new episodes of the original Star Trek or some other show.
