It was then that it kinda hit me how big this galaxy really is. I spent well over 20 hours scouting for the right spot. I had so many choices on location. I've lived on several of the known worlds over the years. Naboo is where my business interests are centered right now so I knew it had to be another world. Sometimes you just have to get away right? I traveled all over the rest of the buildable planets looking for the right spot. I finally chose Rori.
I wanted something with a comfortable feel. I settled on an island in the middle of a lake. The lake is surrounded in the north by a deep mountain range, the east, west, and south by hilly islands. The islands are created by the rivers that branch off from the lake and head off in all directions. The distance from island to opposite shore is about 150m+ all around. It rains quite frequently there. The sunrise is very nice from the balcony on the main building.
I needed room for around 17 buildings. The island itself has 13 structures, while the lab and factories are well out of site of the lake near the mountains. Can't have people looking at industrial buildings while enjoying the view from the island can I?
That brought up another point, what if I go to all this trouble and someone builds a city around me? It is possible that one would be built either by people who love me or hate me. I hadn't really considered territory to be that much of an issue, but even a city placed hundreds of meters away, could begin to threaten my peaceful island feeling over time. I'll just have to hope the rivers and hills keep the sprawl back. With no bulldozers, we are pretty much at the mercy of nature in this world.
With the lack of starport access and the long speeder trip, I had to think of something to bring people out to see it besides, "Hey want to come see my house that takes like 10 minutes to get to from here?"
I decided to create an island resort hotel. That's right, beginning in March, if you live on Corbantis, you will be able to take a vacation from it all and spend some quality time with that loved one, hunting buddy, business partner, or commander lakeside in your pick of the themed cabins, bars, meeting room or even our luxury suite
There will be special incentives to purchase a vacation package while there. Packages will include special gifts and things to do while on and near the island. There will be affordable packages for those travelling to the island from other servers. There will be a gift shop as well.
Right now I'm decorating like a crazy person. Something great the NGE did for me was allow my shipwright to trade entertaining for being able to make furniture and such. I ended up buying prebuilt homes in this case, but I'm making most of the regular type furny.
I've spent several hours on the bazaar and going from planet to planet, city to city, house to house to find the right things for the main hotel building. I've got a good collection of nice things for one maybe two houses. I've got 14 to decorate before this place opens. I've lost count of how many millions I'm putting into this place.
Then I have to put together the incentives packages and ... it's opening time!
I'm not sure what that opening day will be like. In the end I will have spent the majority of two months of gameplay putting this place together. I'll see if I can actually make the business model work. I dig just walking off the beaten track though. When I placed the last building on the last possible spot on the Island and thought of what it would become, I realized that a lot of depth is what we as players make it sometimes.
