Got bored and decided to post this, Please state a REALLY good book you've read before.(and the Author if you can remember)
1. Double exposure-this book was written by Piers Anthony, and is actually a three book in one series that leads to a series called Appretice Adept. It is a really great read along with the apprentice adept series for People who love fantasy and science fiction. But unfortunantly this book is fairly old so it might be hard to obtain.
2. Elric saga- Also a really good read, Written by Micheal Moorcock. This book is based also in a fantasy setting, that portrays a great race falling from Power and rule over all land, and one who is to destroy his own people as part of an eventful destiny that leads him into a sorrowful life.
*edit* the book by peirs anythony i was talking about is called double exposure, phaze doubt is one of the books on the series
Good reads
All quiet on the western front- I loved this book when I was forced to read it in school. I wrote other people's papers for them and became an authority on it, since I had read it three times in the course of our assigned reading time.
A farewell to arms- Hemmingway. I loved this book, it had everything.

That is one of two of those mentioned above I haven't read. Gotta get it.Krusshyk wrote:Eats, Shoots and Leaves: A Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss.
Great book.
One of my favorites is:
Rats, Lice and History by Hans Zinser. Great book! Fun to read. It is supposed to be the biography of typhus, the disease. Only the last 3rd of the book is the biography. The rest of the book is how disease in general has affected the course of history. Mr. Zinser had a sense of humor, and it permeates the book.
I'm currently trying to understand The Zen Doctrine of No-Mind by D.T. Suzuki. I preferred the much easier reading of The Miracle of Mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hanh. He kinda teaches, among other things, how to have fun and relax while doing chores. Weird but do-able.
The Elric series, all the way up to the transmogrification of his sword, is also one of my favorites.
Another favorite series in the SF genre is the Dennis Schmidt one. Wayfarer, Kensho and Satori. Decent action, good plotting, and excellent character development.

I had some interest in him, so I went to the library and grabbed a biography on Francis of Assisi.
the book is called: Francis of Assisi, a revolutionary life.
I have not heard of the author, Adrian House before. He does an awesome job of telling the story from an unbiased perspective. Francis is an easily respectable achiever, regardless of mindset or belief. The descriptions of the socio-political scene in 11-12oo's is enough reason to read it... hopefully I havent even finished it yet, but I love it.
