I don't have time to wade through all of the nonsense people are so happy to post at the SOE boards, but have we gotten a straight answer on whether or not we are locked into a profession for good? I know we only get the one character slot, but the only references to changing professions have been about the respec token for veterans. But like for people who start playing after NGE? Do they get one guy and have to sink shit loads of time in to it only to experience a "good" template only to decide it sucks and have to delete and re-roll?

Yup, re-roll is the only way to change after your respec tokens are used up

The only way to survive a pure class game like this is to allow multiple characters per server, just so you don't feel chlostrophobic when you log on. Having toons on a different server is not the same.

It seems unfair to let everyone new into the game try out every full template character and get to pick which one they want. Didn't we all start out as noobs at one point?

DAoC allowed 8 chars per server, and you could have them on every server, so basically hundreds of different characters.

After their catacombs expansion you could have 10 per...

One of the reasons this doesnt exist on SWG is the delicate economy.

but with the class limitations they are proposing, they might as well throw it all out the window.

Their not letting everyone start out at full template, Rebecca. If your already CL 80... you'll get to respect up to 10 times to another full template, yes.

What we're saying here is... having to keep a final template without switching is very lame.

If you start from scratch... you'll have to invest just as much time I'll wager... but to find out it sucks? I hope they give Everyone this respec token (even new players) so when they get to the end of their profession or mid-way... they can at least have an opportunity to switch instead of losing all their time on a Template.

Yes, you will be.

The only thing that's going to let you change is a Token they'll give you with 10 uses. This will let (at least current gamers) try out each profession then make a 'Final' choice, as Tiggs said, of what Profession you want to be.

After you use that last Token Re-spec. Your locked in for good. Have to delete, re-roll, re-grind thereafter.

Check the Dev tracker, she answered a question like this by saying that you could only changer your profession with the respec tokens.

We probably haven't heard anything concrete on whether we are locked into our chosen skill path because they didn't want to tell us that and that we only get one character per server (unless you have a second slot from ulocking jedi previously) in the same day.

It's going to be a huge mess if we're locked in and we can only have one toon per server.

10 use Token, then your locked in for the duration of your toon.

Only if you unlock an extra Jedi character slot before NGE goes live will you have a 2nd slot on the same server. After, no, you only get the one. The Pre-NGE people that unlocked get to keep their second characters however.

I really don't see why they can't just give everyone 2 slots on one server of their choice (who do not yet have one) to make it fair.

I got sad, shocked and most of all reeeeeeeeeeeeeally pissed! its like buying a car, you think wow what a car! the car dealer rub his hands and looks at you with greedy eyes, you drive away, and later soem months you buy new tires, cooler interiour and upgrade the engine, some more months later you get a demand to return the car, when you get it back its ugly, horribly boring to drive, the seats is too hard and small and the car is horribly pink!

This is how i see this, i mean we hve not logn ago bought RoTW and ran around doing all the quests, invested our time and money in doing that, and nowa ToOW and we wont even finish the quests until this sht hits us! All time , all we own, all everything gone, whack! Its like a punch in the groin!

Why does it constantly look like they try to change swg to soemthing else its like "Oooh wow is popuylar lets turn it to wow" "ok" "ooooooh sw battlefront is popular lets turn it to that! "ok" if they are turning this to some despicable silly crppy swg fps with rpg lite then its tataah, byebye.

As some know i took a break for 1-2 months ago to test WoW, and even tho its faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from what swg is (or....was) at least the developers and creators CARES; LISTENS and ANALYZES, and GIVES what the players wants!.

The things which will result in my cancelation of swg is

# they remove the player economy (with mostly playermade items)
# They are turning this to some sw bf copy with a faint touch of rping.

I dont come to gorath so often, all my friends left when first cu came
this game might change however it want, as long as i enjoy it and my friends remain.

The fact that I will no longer have a chance to have a second character unlocked EVER is a pretty big peev for me.

I mean, why the hell do some people get an extra character just because they chose a different career path anyway. Yes I understand that it's tough and all, but now I NEVER have a chance to get one myself.

Even though i like WoW its bullsht i ncomparsion with swg, but i rather learn to like it than stick with what this seam to turn into.

swg has been a part of my life since i started playing it,, seen and experienced so incredible cool things, closest thing ever to a life in the star wars universe, met so wonderful ppl who ive became friends, with, this is the best game i ever played, and what they do is like making a toilet seat out of a ferarri, or making bbq coal outta a diamond, but still i havent seen it, and honestly, most of all i hope it the sickest most stupid moronic jokein the history =(

if this goes crappy as i fear ill go to wow n try to learn to like it, or hope for a star trek mmorpg!
