As of Pub 10, completing the MEGA GRIND now makes your main character Jedi. The second slot that is unlocked is simply a plain old vanilla newbie toon.

As far as dropping the Jedi Padawan or FS skills, supposedly from everything I've ever read in the Jedi forums, it is not possible. You cannot drop Jedi Padawan or any FS skills after they have been gained. I would however, classify that as an unsubstantiated rumor, because to the best of my knowledge, nobody has actually tried to do that yet.

In a few pre-Pub 10 posts, the Devs also warned against anyone deleting or re-rolling Jedi or FS chars. Obviously because with the way the new system works, they would simply be gone forever and any new toon would start out as a non-FS n00b all over again and have to repeat the whole cycle.

Hmm, if this is true, then I may have to re-re-consider taking FS skills. Never being able to drop them? I need to try to confirm this. It's not game-shattering by any means, but I'm not sure I'd like the permanence of it as I'm not really treating FS as FS.

My character has 5 of 6 skill branches towards Jedi Initiate, I need 3 boxes in teh last tree and I've already begun RPing the force skills to a very small degree. I dont want any über characters, in RP either, she is already good at kicking butt *grins* and despite what her slave thinks, she's not a Goddess *grin*
After consulting with my trusted Jedi friends, it does not take 250 SPs anymore to become a Jedi like in the old system. This basically means I can keep dancer because I also never intended to work further than Padawan. The whole perma Overt and PvP thing isn't for me, certainly wouldnt expect any good RP when Johnny Roxxor an Joe Dudez come to slay me!

from reading, once you gain jedi initiate (completing 6 trees of fs stuff) and get your second slot, you CANNOT go back to being a normal character...

this sucks, because I had a plan for a new jedi character, but I don't want to mess up my good character I have now...

Maybe after I can be a smuggler and the revamp comes I'll try Jedi...

So I'll just here and wait...

Yep...

Hopefully, if they do the Smuggler Revamp right you won't want to try Jedi! :D

I plan on RPing a Jedi with Hashum, I'm undecided with Queleri though. I may just get some FS crafting skills with him but since you don't get any added experimenation points I may not even bother with that.

As for the extra Character slots I'm definately going with new species probably sullustian. I'd go Bothan but of all the species I think SOE did the worst job on the Bothan, I just don't think they look right. And I'm very disapointed because it's one of my favorite races in the SW universe.

Unfortunately you're correct on not being able to go back. But if you use the FS skills properly you can make better use of those 24 or 25 skill points picking up defenses and terrain negotation to save you from picking up novice scout and exploration I. Just by doing that you save yourself 17 of the 24 skill points you need to unlock your other character which you can use as your Jedi. It just takes some clever planning is all.

The hard part is thinking of what skills will help you if you do go Jedi. None of the Combat really helps you at all. And that's the easiest XP to get. Crafting also won't help as a Jedi so you're pretty much stuck with reflexes and scenses.
