I voted yes, the only thing I dislike is that you couldn't participate in another guild. Unless MERCS was one of the guilds, I'd have to give up my position there to participate, and while I like the idea I'd have to have to leave MERCS.

We are thinking that you would keep your current guild. Of course, you's have to make sure that EVERYONE in your guild was okay with the idea.

I envision we would test this out for a short time.

I hated the lineage 2 beta.

I dunno if I am going to join a guild or not. So for me I voted no. I am not into PVP. I see no overriding joy in it. If it makes you happy, great. My character wouldn't fight except under very extreme circumstances.

I voted "Yes". Not because I'm in love with the idea, but because I'd like to at least try it out.

If I don't like it, then I have the ultimate "Stop" button. Leaving the guild.

I voted yes, because I think with responsible RP parties involved it shouldn't be a problem. I'd hate to see it turn into Lord of the Flies, however. Dwilah has no combat and I hate pvp for the sake of pvp but for the occasional goofy duel in good humor (see Dwilah vs. three rancors or Dwilah vs. Master Fencer Bilko), but if she got smacked around some in the sake of RP I'd be all for it.

You know what though, if we wanted to try this out instead of doing this guild thing, interested parties could all just challenge each other to duels before one of the big social events and see how it ran for a few nights for trial runs.

Because you can duel multiple people at a time... =)

I voted a big fat no. Its not that I don't think its a good idea -- in fact I think its a great idea. The problem I see here is that this is a system begging to be abused.

Look at our events that we have now. Even with the current system in place, we still have problems with attacking and buffing and whatnot. I think overall that the guild system is a great idea, but won't ever work the way people expect it to. The old saying of 'a chain is only as strong as its weakest link' certainly applies here. You're asking for a system where several people have to buy in and have no form of abuse.

Great idea, but I fear it could never work.

I read Lord of the Flies for the first time when I was in my mid-late 20s. I enjoyed it. It's not just for kids. Check it out at the library and read it. And yeah, this scenario could become a SWG lord of the flies...if we didn't have leaders in place to remove any 'weak links'. Abusers will be weeded out, and if NOBODY can control themselves, well then it ends. No biggie. But I think it's worth a try!

I've been in a guild when they were at war another guild. The posibilities of griefing if both guilds dont play by the set rules is teribly high. My guild for instnace was at war with another, and the other guild continually broke the rules set forth, like attacking dancers in a cantina..not to mention camping a clone center keeping one of our memebers trapped. I dont know, unless everyone in both guilds are intellegent and think before acting, the posibilty of people power gaming is just too great.

I voted no. Yes, it would be nice to try out, but in the end I think it would result in everyone showing up to events in full comp armor fully buffed(which i hate both). Then there's also the fact you'd have to worry about mass friendly fire. A lot of the more powerful attacks in the game are AOE attacks. Group with your buddy and you're standing in the wrong place one of you gets shot in the back. Sure it's more realistic, but it's a headache I'd rather not have to mess with in the game at the moment.

And as others have stated, the griefing would eventually show, weather intentional or not. I was in a guild war as well once, and there was greifing done on both sides.(Hard to pull in the reigns when you're not on when it's done). It basically became a tit for tat fight where both would claim one griefed and used it as an excuss to grief the others.


Then there's the fact that if you're always attackable, you can always be incaped/killed. And frankly, I don't see it as part of my character to die or get knocked out everywhere he goes. What kinda field commander would that be? Stormtrooper 1:"You know who the new commander is?" Stormtrooper 2:"Yea. Col. Haunter." Stormtrooper 1:"Him? We're doomed. He'll be knocked out before we even get to return fire."

I would have to leave my guild. There is no way that Mafia would be able to abide by the RP rules.

Doctor buffs, how do we handle them? I personally don't want to have to be buffed all the time.

Back to the original question.. Does the concept appeal to you?

I am not asking you to factor in your current guild situation, or all the possible rules variations. These issues are things to be dealt with down the road.
