Dariis wrote:I think no food or spice, but if you robe has skill mods they are ok (after all it is your outfit) as far as armor goes, I think one item (excluding leg/chest/helm) would be ok, personally I like the look of many boots/gloves and bracers. Also I feel dizzy to knockdown should not be allowed, but dizzy to posture change should be allowed (example 2 best pike moves are area2 and hit3, but area2 dizzies, and hit3 lowers posture. same for heavysword, hit3 dizzies and area3 lowers posture)
But if people want dizzy to knockdown im ok with it too because Dariis has 90 defense vs knockdown and 85 defense vs dizzy.
thanks for all the input do far

This is your idea, so go with whatever you feel is right. Here are my opinions which you can embrace or disregard at your leisure...
The primary goal of the rules should be to give as much power to the player as possible to determine the outcome of the match. I think template should be as small of a factor as possible.
My opinions on the various stat-enhancements:
- Doctor Buffs = Very bad. Grossly favors the "mind hitting" professions and the composite armor stuff I am so sick of seeing.
- Clothing = leaning towards no, but I will accept it. I want to be able to wear different outfits when I fight and not feel like I am at a perpetual disadvantage because other people are wearing stat-clothing. I do have stat clothing, but I don't want to wear only that all the time.
- Food = I like. There is a strategy to food and drink. Stomach space is a finite resource... do you go for attack, defense, or dmg reduction, etc. against a particular opponent?
- Spice = I am okay with this. I consider it like a very mini-buff. RP wise, I am not so sure about it.. might not fit.
As far as Dizzy/KD.. I am torn. It takes much of the skill out of the fight in that the first to land a successful Dizzy/KD wins.

I have always found that no food/spice/buffs is the best way to keep pvp in line with player skill (though I do agree that the stomach space is a strategy in its self). also as far as stat clothing goes I say no Bio engineered stat clothing, but looted/ skill mod clothing is ok.
ok with the support I have got from this post I think thursday 11/18 or the following monday 11/22 will be when I plan this to begin. I would like to put in on the calander but im not sure how to do that

. So far I have the following people interested: Ekade, Jabe, Endrin, Seret, Glacial, and Typhus, with Joeash and I thats 8 for now. Im thinking the first time it should be outside in nature so if there is a ranger who would like some survival xp we could use a camp, and I think a musician and some medics couldnt hurt. Matches will be best 2 of 3 and the rules will be explained IC.

Excellent!
To make a calendar event, just post a new message. Before you submit the message, you can scroll down. There is an interface for the calendar near the bottom. Just select a day and post the time in the message body(include timezone). It will appear in the calendar.
Go ahead and give it a try.
I am a master dancer, so I can heal mind very quickly.

Thursdays and Mondays.... good nights for me (excluding non-routine IRL activities).
I have reasonable medical skills and a sidekick droid (especially if there is an entertainer around - don't ask, I'm a cheapskate). My "template" isn't complete yet which will make this all the more fun.
Lookin' forward to it, I'll let you know if some nice scenery comes to mind in the next day or two. /think I'm hunting on Rori these days, I'm impressed with the visuals....

LOL.. I have an entertainer droid. You say "don't ask".. but I have to ask.. What nefarious plans do you have hatching surrounding someone else's entertainer droid?

LOL. I don't even want to answer. It will only spoil your imagination...
I was only commenting that I usually heal secondary wounds by using /tendwound while watching an enteratainer to clean up the mind damage. It saves space in my rucksack to not have to carry 4 out of 6 of the woundkits.
Then again... Hatching a diabolical plot around your entertainer droid would be truly entertaining for an ol' Bothan Spynet pro. *rummages around*. Now if I can just find those rumors about that second great battlestation.

Gotcha.. like I said.. I can heal mind very fast.
However, I am very protective of my entertainer droid. Seret once coined the phrase "twirling lekku of death". You don't want to find out what that is.

If we both show up to meet this Dariis character, I look forward to seeing precisely that.

Here's a couple brainstorms from Rori... take 'em or leave 'em:

Good crater for tight fights in the middle and spectators/monks watching from hills around.

Here are a couple ideas since I haven't checked the forums for a while....
1. It may be a bit late, but I think that if you had some clothing made to give to participants that they have to wear in order to compete, then you could be in charge of what skills are being boosted. Just a thought...
2. I really REALLY dig that crater, I think it looks like a sweet tournament spot...
3. I think that we should contact an event coordinator for a later event, so maybe we can get them to help us hold the event in a big city, like Theed. It would be good publicity, good way for people to see what kinds of things RPers do, other than go to Casinos and Cantinas for social hour. (no offense to that, I do it too

) And maybe get people exposed to Nocturnus and the fact that most of it's citizens are RPers. I do however see a problem with this at the same time... If there are crap loads of people all in Theed at once then, or any given area for that matter, things are gonna crap out, bandwidth is gonna go to shit... so please give some feedback about these ideas :-D

Not to mention the d00dz thay will want to "pwn" the people involved in the Melee Academy.. trying to provoke a fight by hurling inslults and using the /slap emote.
I am very excited about this concept. Based on my interections with Dariis, I know the RP will be outstanding.

I like the craters a lot too, Glacial I would like you to send those waypoints to me, but I have the first location already planned out

But I think if this becomes a popular event, then other places will be used.

I'll send them to you IC after our first event. I'm becoming a bit of a stickler, smack me if I get carried away.
I can't wait to see the ruins you picked out. I'm having to fend off the urge to peak at them with a polearm
