Martial Arts Tournament (Mon Dec 20th 8:30 CST)

Regrettfully, the death of a close comrade of mine led to my not being able to attend the tournament. We had to recover the body from the Corellian Corvette and say our farewells.

Perhaps the next time nothing will come up and I shall be able to attend.

Yes, I love this format. It is the closest thing I have seen to "skill determines outcome". Sure template and weapon have a lot to do with it, but the suggestions Dariis gives actually work and can influence the fight to your advantage.

Glacial had some nice moves where he would try to get out of range. This almost worked against Rebecca in a very close match. Against me.. well, twilek dancers are very flexible and can reach a good distance. :D

Rebecca absolutely destroyed me one round when she clobbered me with her hammer.

Dariis is insane with that pike. When you hit for over 1200 in pvp... SHEESH. :D But I don't mind that. He roleplays a student of the art, one who devotes his life to the study of hand to hand combat. As such, I can totally buy into him 1-hitting somone. :D

I am pleased with how Ekade fights. I imagine her being quick, hard to hit, and not overpowering. My fights seem to play out that way. A lot of times people wear themselves out trying to hit me as I jab at them.

That was a lot of fun. Darn TK's are so tough. Part of me wishes I was still one. On the other hand I think Fencer is a better RP fit for Ekade.

I can just see Darris saying something like Bruce Lee.

"Do not think - feel. It should be like a finger pointing to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger or you'll miss all of that heavenly glory."

The fact that I can means to me he's playing the part of a monk very well.

*hugs Dariis*.... *takes a drink*

I had a great time everyone, and I am very delighted to hear that you did as well. the grouping is a great idea (i was toggling between targest too much and will definatly group the fighters next time). Secondly I will say that the wookiee did quite well for a non master with a powerhammer and low mind, and the reason i beleive is the racial HAM bonus. I will say that all the fights were good, but I really need to hired a medic (I appreciate your help glacial and rebecca) to help keep the events going faster, the begin was moving at the pace of a snail.

my suggestions, for everyone, to improve PvP duels or encounters in the unbuffed realm are:
-adjust ham to counter ballance your weapon of choice (dariis' ham is 800 strength and quickness)
-know your weapons range bonus's and if possible your opponents
-Center of being is amazing, so make sure to click it again when it wears off
-study the combat log after the fights (if you swing that means you could have done a special)
-states (intimidated=1/2 damage, blind is best used in the begining of a fight, stun lowers damage a little too, a knocked down opponent takes double damage! so use power after a kd)
-LUNGE1 (dont forget it) lowering someone to kneeling disrupts their momentum, and a kneeling opponent takes a little more damage

I think these events are fun, but I think they would be better if every week there was a meeting for practice and like every 6 weeks have a tournament. again thanks for comming and all the input, it has helped me greatly.

also one on one dueling back and forth between friends is the best way to get better at dueling, ill gladly dueling with someone over and over again if anyone would honor dariis with such a lesson (I could use the practice too :))
